Only the 65nm 260s have voltage control, the 55s don't. You should be able to sli with a 192 and a 216 sp card, but probably easier if they are both 216s or 192s. I have a 55 and a 65nm 216sp 260, which work together perfect. My 65nm has voltage control, my 55nm doesn't.

Nope, not really. They change clocks a bit differently, so you'll have to play with clock settings to get them to match. Other than that, no issues.

omg... i would have totally traded that lol.

i would sell the 192... voltage control is not what its cracked out to be - check your VRM temps when you game. You will be unpleasantly surprised. Those unisinks I used to hate... had to have additional 80mm fans on them :/

so, it is not a DX11 problem ugh, I found this out by running ther unigine heaven bench ran GREAT in DX10 mode! same with just cause2 (only DX10 game) but 3dmark vantage crashes the driver before the 1st test even starts up! it loads the test gets to creating shaders on the load screen the shuts the driver down. I think its something to do with the GPU's not syncing properly. damnit! I wish I had gotten the 192 card damnit! now im stuck with this 216 wtf. the clocks on both cards are the same but its weird. I ran 3dmark06 and get 24000pts with my cpu at 3.9ghz and both gpus running at 602core/1296shader/1026mem. is that score in line with what I should be getting on sli?? And Johnspack both your cards are the 216 model?? damn maybe thats why I have issues?? anyone wanna trade a their 192 card for a 216 card?? or their 216 card for a 192 card??

I would buy it but dont have the $$ to do so, but im probably going to list the 216 card as a trade for one i dont mind the heat from the vregs on the 192's because volterra's are rated to run up to 110c, mine sit at 65c dureing games not bad imo

well heres what gpu-z states for idle and load:
IDLE
GPU:52
PCB:47
GPU:47.8
PCB:48
LOAD
GPU:69
PCB:62
GPU:61.7
PCB:63.4

seems in line to me, this is with AS5 replaced

not sure what the PCB temps actually stand for but i can only assume those are placed near the nvio and vregs. my 192 core card the vregs have tempsensors so its easier to tell

oh jesus

that thing used to get my wc'd to 57 C... which is bad since even folding didnt get them that high... its basically furmark

Na it's hotter but it lets you test your video cards ram overclocking independant of the gpu. It also seems with a 64 bit operating system my overclocking is not as high. The only thing in gaming so far for me to get my cards up near the temps of OCCT was Trine on max seetings after very long periods. If you can run OCCT gpu test on your gpu then you are truely stable.

I let my 65nm card be master, but it doesn't matter. All 260s work together. My temps are similar to yours with stock cooling. The 65nm shouldn't go much above 70c under full load. The 55 should stay in the 60s at all times. Also, don't count furmark ect, no game or folding will ever push them that hard. Although I like at least 10mins stable with kombustor or furmark....

really? sh*t man... my 260 hits 81C and stays there when I game...

Maybe its time for a bios fan mod.

what occt challenge?? the early 260's (192 and 1st rev 216's) have volterra controllers therefore able to jack up the voltage and get higher oc's, my 192 can go all the way up to 700mhz stable but my 216 (non volterra PCB897) only does like 620 max. no one wants to trade my 216 for a 192 do they?? Also hase anyone tried voltmodding their 216 (non volterra) using a bios mod?? I've been seriously pondering it, as my bios allows for 1.18v to be set via bios but im unsure if I would be able to flash back if the voltage chip does not recognize 1.18v

you didn't read my posts, see if you card is stable using occt full screen gpu test and let me know your temps. here is the program http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/index.php?Download

hey burgers, can you post your voltage?? also 800 almost definately will not be stable even with higher voltage the chips just wont do it, mine wont anyways.
side note, my offer still stands, willing to trade my GTX260 core 216 for someones GTX260 core 192
also, trt740 I already did the occt test and posted my tems already, for my 216.
