GTX 260 c216 SC vs. GTX 275

Hey guys. I'm most likely going to get $200 from my iPod soon, and am ready to get away from my 4870 (and ATI in general) for a variety of reasons. I'm pretty dead set on getting an EVGA brand card. I was going to do that when I first started getting my stuff but had a change of heart and now wish I would have went through with it. Anyways, the question.

EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked - $190 (has an additional $30 MIR)
vs.
EVGA GTX 275 - $225 (has an additional $20 MIR)

I'm playing games at 1920x1080, and I always like to turn up the AA and whatnot.
Some games I've been playing recently: Crysis, GTA 4, Call of Juarez 2, TF2, L4D, Pretty much every other Steam game.

I pretty much know the 275 is going to perform better, and it has higher stock clocks than the pre-OC's 260. I was just wondering if the better performance is worth $35 more.

I think that the extra $35 is well worth it. Think of it this way some people spend more than that for a factory overclocked card.

Yep go for the 275, get 280/285-like performance with a healthy OC while saving money. Bang for the buck that 260 would have to be around $150 to be a comparable value imo.

It does seem like he really wants to move away from ATi, I can understand that, just the same as someone not liking specific things about Nvidia and wanting to go to ATi.

IF Nvidia is what you want, and EVGA too, looks like the 275 is the best value, unless a GTX260 core 216 is much closer to $150, then its the best value IMO.

I was looking at them, it's basically $100 more for the 285 over the 275. I'm sure it's worth it, but I don't regularly play very intensive games. I might just try to hold out until they release some dx11 Nvidia cards and see how the prices change.

I've thought about crossfire and actually paid a little bit more for my board and got a larger PSU so I would have the option to do it, but I've heard that the little bit of extra performance you get isn't worth the money. Can anyone testify about their crossfire 4870 setup?

if you want real deal don't upgrade now wait for DX11 hardware besides there are no good games until October ......

about crossfire performance with crossfire two 4870 you can reach and go over 4870 X2 performance but i want give some tips i try crossfire
1- if you have 4870 512MB ram better wait for upgrade to dx11 cards cuz in crossfire and SLI ram not be add so 512+512=512 in crossfire , or if you have 4870 1G it will be coll in crossfire and pass away 4870 X2 performance .
2- you can crossfire with other card more cheap like 4850,4830 and this is will be enough like i do
3- some games have bad engine and don't support multi GPU (CF,SLI) like (GTA,arma2) but other game support it like crysis and you shot when you see the great performance i have 4870 1G crossfire it with 4850 1G my old average FPS on mas details 1280x1024 without AA is 25-30 and now is 40-50 and sometimes reach 60 so im try max AA my FPS now 35-40.

and about crossfire setup
1- you have one cable in each card box so just plug this two cards by the two cables
2- turn on pc , boot windows so you find automatically in your disktop the catalyst say welcome in crossfire and do restart
3- so after restart crossfire now work
just this no more
