GTX 295 (master +slave) bios please ? anyone ??

i need master +slave bios of gtx 295

please i have hierarchy mismatch when flashing .i need for exemple a slave bios of asus gtx 295

but these are master bioses, i need master and slave bios of the same model ?

Suggest you email the card manufacture (Support Department) then with a request for the right Bios
it will help them if you include
SKU
Serial Number
Proof of Purchase

but why didn't they include the mention master and slave bios in techpowerup ? knowing its the rule for dual gpu cards and this is outdated model ithought someone here has his own library of bioses

That's an AMD/ATI GPU. Don't confuse SLI and Crossfire. If your motherboard supports Crossfire but not SLI, you're out of luck.

A little bit of googling shows others have used two, even on the single PCB cards. I see mentions of i1 and i2 in commands for flashing, which seems to point at the need for two.

yes i need two
my gpu was hanging at windows logo and doing artifacts ,but after flashing first gpu ,the graphics card boot normaly but only one gpu is detected and working,the other gpu is idling
this shows in benchmark too
so when flashing the second gpu , i have a message hierarchy mismatch telling that i need slave bios (or hierarchy id =02)

@sneekypeet is on to the crux of how to flash a GTX 295. You need to tell NVFLASH which GPU you're trying to flash.

Found this on overclock.net:

First rom
nvflash -f -i1 (bios).rom
nvflash -5 -6 -i1 (bios).rom
nvflash -4 -5 -6 -i1 (bios).rom

Second rom
nvflash -f -i2 (bios).rom
nvflash -5 -6 -i2 (bios).rom
nvflash -4 -5 -6 -i2 (bios).rom


Note the "-i2" in the commands, that's telling NVFLASH to flash the BIOS of the second GPU. To my knowledge you use the same BIOS .rom to flash both GPUs with.

no , absolutely not the same bios ,,one is master , i did it without difficulty , the second is slave bios
i wish i could edit (hierarchy id ) of the master bios so to create a slave bios with different hierarchy id

It sounds to me like you have a hardware problem, in which case a BIOS flash won't help you, unfortunately. It looks to me like what's happened is that your flash disabled the bad GPU, so that your card is now working normally, but only on one GPU.

I know that this is frustrating, but it's a really old card, with poor performance compared to something new, so I'd say that this is a great time for an upgrade if you can.

From one of the russian forums I found that on ASUS cards the BIOS versions from the factory are as follows:
GPU1 - 62.00.45.00.01 (AS07M, M is for Master)
GPU2 - 62.00.45.00.02 (AS07S, S is for Slave)

Do not flash the #0 flash, cause this one is for communication ASIC.
You need to flash both cards before reboot.

It's absolutely the same BIOS version and you have a clear identification of Master/Slave in a subversion number. What better assurance do you need?

but the uploader could save us time if he had mentioned slave in the name of his file

but now its worse , windows doesnt recognize the gpu (say standard vga adapter )

Yeah, that's consistent with that previously disabled GPU being bad. Oh well, at least you got to try it and see for yourself.

Again, have you reinstalled the drivers? Or, have you tried going through Device Manager and updating the driver for that adapter?

yeah ,i tried through device manager reinstaling that vga , but with same result
reflashing old bios didnt disable the bad gpu

That is something I am unsure of how to do.

Only guessing, but maybe go into the nvidia control panel and disable SLI or try setting the second GPU for PhysX only?
