Hi guys.

I still have a 4850 and wanted to upgrade it to a 7850/7870.
As was I searching around, I stumbled upon an offer for a reference GTX 560Ti for about 80€/100$.

It is a bit slower than a 7850 and has a higher TDP but only half the price...
Now my question is, what do you guys think of this card´s p/p ratio? And is it still worth buying a 40nm card?

Any advice is much appreciated!

the GTX 560 Ti at 100 has good price perf. but i would still recommend a HD 7850. with new drivers a HD 7850(1 Ghz) is faster than GTX 570 and on par with GTX 660. Once you overclock to 1.2 ghz the HD 7850 is faster than GTX 580. and if you can get the card with the free Farcry 3 game its even better. the reviews for this game have been positive.

the PCS+ HD 7850 (1 Ghz) is a nice factory overclocked card.

which country are you from so that i can recommend the best deals

Let's not overreact. It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock'n'roll.

That being said the 7850 is a very good card if you're on a budget.

Thank you for your reply.

Yeah this Never Settle gaming bundle is really nice.

And I thought about that HD 7850 PCS+ too or this Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC. And maybe if I have some more cash then, I would even consider going for a 7870 GHz Edition PCS+.

Oh, and I´m from Germany.

PCS+ HD 7850 (1 Ghz) - 182 (Farcry 3 free game)
http://www.mindfactory.de/product_i...HD-7850-PCS--Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-.html

PCS+ HD 7870 (1.1 Ghz) - 198 (Farcry 3 and Dirt Showdown free games)
http://www.mindfactory.de/product_i...down-Edition-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-.html

Gigabyte HD 7870 (1.1 Ghz) - 212 (Farcry 3 free game)

My pick is the Gigabyte HD 7870 for the fantastic windforce 3x cooler. keeps temps below 65c at stock speeds and even when voltage overclocked.

That being said the 7850 is a very good card if you're on a budget.

thats a stock HD 7850 at 860 mhz. HD 7850(1 Ghz) can easily match a GTX 570.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/HD_7850_PCS_Plus/28.html

1920 x 1200

PCS+ HD 7850 (1 Ghz) - 100
GTX 570 - 102
HD 6970 - 103
HD 7870 - 111

those are with older drivers. HD 7850 is easily faster than GTX 570 with newer drivers. the GTX 660 might be slightly ahead because its boosting to 1.05 Ghz or more. Once you overclock both cards the HD 7850 scales better because of a full 256 bit memory system with 32 ROPs. HD 7850 at (1.15 Ghz) matches a HD 7870 (1 Ghz). the GTX 660 is also affected by strict restrictions on power target by Nvidia.

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/09/19/asus_geforce_gtx_660_directcu_ii_overclocking_review/5

"The GTX 660 is not an overclocker’s GPU. It isn't the fault of ASUS however. It is the NVIDIA specified strict limit to the Power Target that is keeping us from achieving good overclocks. If some manufacturer were to come out with a custom GTX 660 that is able to provide us a higher Power Target, we could see some great overclocks out of this GPU. Unfortunately this kind of thing is frowned upon this generation by NVIDIA. NVIDIA is being very strict on the TDP, Power Target, and overvoltage with the Kepler generation."

Too sad, I just checked the link to see if the card is still available and looks like there was some typo or error or whatever. Now they want 222 Euro... No way!

So it will be a 78x0. That Windforce 3X looks sweet, a bit pricey though.

if you are getting the windforce3x make sure your case can fit it. its 28cm long. also get it from mindfactory.de as they have the free farcry 3 game bundle.

GTX560 Ti for 100 $ is a steal. This is the price i would pay for GTX460. GTX560 Ti is just slightly slower than HD7850, why the talk went about HD7850 suddenly, just get the damned GTX560 Ti.
