That gigabyte looks sweet and its as cheap as a ref card too.

I really like how the ASUS II version of the GTX 670 beats out the 680, but I will wait until a 4 GB version of the 670 is released. I say this because, at 1440P, I am already using around 2.5 GB of VRAM just to play BF3, so 2 GB is not enough.

Not everyone checks hot deals for release info, but, the more the merrier! :rockout:
Makes more sense to post that info in the nvidia section (imo)

You do realize that the engine modifies usage based on the amount of V-ram available right? Just because you're using 2.5GB doesnt mean you need 2.5GB. It is only using that much because it knows you have 3 so, why not...

Considering that this card beats a 3GB 7970 in BF3 at 1600P and at 5670x1080P at 4X AA with 2GB of ram, I would say that Ram is not the limiting factor. At least not with this gen's games...

speaking of newegg's gtx670 availability, $440 Galaxy670 seems like the most potent choice at this second ,,, 8+6pin power connectors, full length board, beefed up phases, good cooling
too bad gigabytes 670windforce is out of stock

I will wait a while after the release to truly trust the 670 short PCB.

Look at what happened with the VRM problems on the 570's and the 590's. There is a chance that they simply cut too much, and the cards could have problems after heavy use. :/

Hopefully not thought, because this is definitely on the short list of cards to purchase.

The gpu vrms on ref 670's is as good as those on ref 680's only the mem vrm is a little weaker but the cooler is the problem here because is kind of junk just a piece of aluminium. That being said i see no point in going for a ref card when gigabyte windforce is the same price and has a much much better cooler.

True. My rig is this though - so I like the exhaust cooler.

    @ phanbuey

I did not know that. I am seriously thinking about buying two of these. I will wait the "three day rule" to see if I want to or not...

Originally ordered the EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB Superclocked in a rush but realized after the fact that it had the shorter pcb? and had 2x6 power connectors. Went on the hunt for the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 GV-N670OC-2GD and found it on Newegg this morning. I cannot wait until it arrives and try it on BF3 and see its overclocking potential!

I'm getting the gigabyte. Its factory clocked a touch higher than the rest, and i like the triple cooler. I would prefer the asus, but its not out till 18th or something.

I read on a massive 670 OC thread at overclock.net that it has 4+2 phase design. Just like the 680 OC model. So good headroom on memory?

I got the MSI OC version. It is quiet and runs cool.
I'm not even gonna bump it up. No need.
