Hi guys im thinking of buying the new gtx680 and the Samsung SyncMaster S27A950D
ive read that the Samsung SyncMaster S27A950D is better for ati graphics cards and want to make sure that it would be fine with the gtx680.
im not really interested in the 3D part of it as i understand that Nvidia 3D vision would be better which would mean buying a different monitor. i do want this monitor cos they say its the best picture quality and fastest 2D monitor you can buy and thats what i want for Battlefield 3.
from what i read people say that this screen can have some back light bleed problems but then most monitors do have and that the screen is very reflective but i always go on my pc with the curtains closed so dont think it will be a problem.
does anyone know if there is any difference between the Samsung SyncMaster S27A950D and the Samsung S27A750D apart from the look and connections ? all im after is best picture quality and fast response time for gaming and movies. (more for gaming)
any help or would be great and if anyone has seen these monitors and seen other 120hz monitors like the Benq XL2410T 24" TRUE 120Hz or Asus VG278H 27" TRUE 120Hz or any other 120hz 3D monitor 23" 24" or 27" it doesnt matter and think its much better picture quality and faster then it would be very nice to have ur opinion on this. i wont ask if you think its worth the extra money as this will depend on how much money you have or like to spend on pc parts.
many thx for any help.

I have the S27A950D and i love it, but have an ati card, there is backlight bleed but its not that bad, you eventually dont even notice it. Picture qualtiy is the best ive seen on any monitor ive used.

Buddy of mine has the 23in version and it works fine on his 680, he doesnt play 3D games but he loves it, if for some reason this went in the crapper i would give my left testicle to get another one lol. If you can afford the 27in go for it! My bud saw mine and now has monitor envy lol

i read that the s27a950d has more back light bleed than the s27a750d cos of the stand is only on the right and the weight of the monitor pulling over to one side makes it have more bleed and im wondering is there any difference in picture quality between the 2 monitors ??? and am i right in thinking i wont see my own reflection if i have my curtains closed or in a dark room when playing or watching dark scenes ? i mean in a dark room is the light from the monitor enough to see my own reflection in it ?

Well i havent seen the other monitor in person so i cant say if it has less light bleed then the 950 or the same pic quality, i would imagine its pretty close. Also glare isnt that bad, i usually watch movies with lights on and it doesnt bother me so in dark with curtains close is great, light from monitor wont cause you to see your image that much, you can see it but its very minor. The screen used it mean to be glossy but also mean to cut down on glare! Also if you think the bleed might be worse from the 950 just go with the 750

only thing that worries me about the 750 is that ive heard that there is some problems with the display port where the monitor can just shut off so u get the no signal on the monitor as if u have turned the pc off. i can get the s27a950d now for £415 so i think i might have to order one. i can always send it back if i dont like within 7 days :) many thx for ur help

If your that finicky about backlight bleeding, go get a XL2410T. Uses LED, and is 3dvision ready as well just in case you find in your heart to try it out. It also has this black enhancement thingy (forgot what its called, but basically makes dark areas a bit more visible) giving you an edge in BF3.

i had a look at that BenQ they have a newer version out of that one but i dont think the colours and picture quality are as good as the samsung so ive ordered the samsung but thx for ur input guys.
ithe perfect monitor would have been the samsung with nvidia's 3D or the samsung without any 3D just the 120hz.
