Hello guys `

I have a problem with my GTX 690 that I can not solve.

Especially when I play battlefield 3 online i use as EVGA Precision software to monitor the fan and temperature.

In a nutshell after 30 minutes of play, the two GPUs drop their workload and fall up to 40% instead of staying at 95%.

This leads to a sharp drop in framerates.

I have a custom fan profile and temperatures do not exceed 71 degrees both GPUs.

Why the two GPUs decide to work less after 30 minutes of play while temperatures are fine ?

I do not think my PSU cant handle the wattage that the system needs.

Your PSU should be fine.

Have you tried installing the beta drivers/roll back to older drivers?

Does it happen in other games? What does HWTemp say your temperatures are when gaming?

I have the Beta now 331.40 drivers, it was happen also with older WHQL drivers.

I switched to the beta drivers to see if it solve the problem but he did not.

I think it happened with Metro Last Light, but no other games.

GRID 2 for example is fine.

+1 760w is fine for a 690, also temps do not appear to be an issue. May want to roll back to some other drivers if you're using Beta's, or look for a problem elsewhere.

I still try with a Seasonic X Gold PSU with 1250Watt but i think is useless, because the probem is something else.

I'm searching in nvidia forums.

I wonder if a program in the background would be able to hold the video card? ?

This is 1 second after i noticed the drop and i leave the server.

Last 3 minutes of gameplay the GPU's clearly show drop in workload.

Now that I think of it, I had the same issue with Bad Company 2. What I did to fix it was reseating the GPU (GTX 580 at the time), it somehow fixed my performance problems.

Kudos to Ne6 for the thread find, if reseating it doesn't help. =)

Edit: Could you post frametimes, if you have fraps installed?

Taking out the GPU from the motherboard, then putting it in again.

Is your card OC'd?

Edit: I guess I should be more clear about things, I just woke up and I got slapped right in the face with CCNA exams!

Have you checked your VRAM usage? Sure, the 690 is listed as a 4gb card, but it only has 2gb per GPU.

Write down all of your programs before doing so, I keep forgetting to do that and end up spending unnecessary time for all of my stuff.

Hitting the VRAM limit shouldn't decrease his performance by such a huge margin, especially not for that long. This is coming from a 2GB GTX 670 user running BF4 at 2560x1440.

I know that, but no i do not checked.

Im gonna add the VRAM usage graph in performance log

yeah, I kind of doubt that is the problem after what Cheezus said about playing BF4 at 1440p with 2gb cards, but it's worth a check to make sure.

I made a screen shot if helps.

Before you reinstall everything, have you seen the same issue in other games? Benchmark programs?

I played alot GRID 2 lately and i do not see any performance drops.

Then i played Metro Last Light and it happened once. It seems happens only with heavy games.

I do not tested with benchmark programs. Wich is the best for check if this problem persist ?

Thank you

What is your CPU usage when it's start lagging? Do your gpus ever hit 99-100% usage at the same time?
