I will be buying one more 4GB Ram stick and I will upgrade my psu and my case

If your monitor is lower resolution, there could be some. Not enough to justify not getting the card though.

19 inch LCD monitors are usually 5:4 so they are 1280x1024 ... at that resolution with v-sync on, gtx 760 gpu usage will be less than 50% in most games ... cpu heavy games will bottleneck - strategies like rome 2 and open world games like skyrim.
On the upside, your card will be very quiet.

Buying a GTX 760 for use with that CPU/motherboard/screen combo would be a waste. Rather buy a GTX 650/750 2GB and a 23" 1920x1080 monitor. You will probably find that your CPU bottlenecks you a bit, but overall your system will be a lot better balanced.

Just get the gtx 760 if deal is good, ph x6 bottleneck but not so. Overall very big leap.

Have you tried running an overclock on the x6? Thubans are still pretty good, I don't think it will bottleneck you that bad. You should be able to get 3.7-4.0ghz.

With an overclock, its not much slower than an 8350.

On a 1080 monitor I'd say it's a pretty fair match, but at 1280x1024 (as has been suggested) something closer to the GTX650Ti would be a better choice: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gaming-graphics-card-review,review-32865-7.html will give you some idea as to how much of an upgrade each card will be. Only go for the faster GTX760 if you intend to upgrade to a 1080 screen fairly soon.
A 550-600Watt unit from: Corsair, Antec, Silverstone, XFX, EVGA, Seasonic, FSP or the Rosewill Capstone/Green will serve well for the PSU upgrade.
Adding a half decent CPU cooler and a little overclocking is a good idea, it's done wonders for my 4 year old i5 750 setup.

I'm something of a Philistine with cases-as long as everything fits and is well cooled I'm not bothered about looks so why the case change?

Running on a single stick is only running single channel. Another 4GB stick will help some but until you OC that CPU then it will get much better.

Thinking the same thing. Get a cooler for that chip too, like Cooler Master Evo, and clock the chip, and the bottleneck should be gone, or just a lot less.

Except, I wouldn't try overclocking on his board. low end board, no vrm heatsinks, etc.

can always add heatsinks and fan to VRMs, but the chipset is pretty much not an enthusiast platform anyway (760= low end)
