GTX 780 OC vs R9 290 OC

I'm in a tight possession right now trying to decide which to go with. I was wondering if anybody knew how the compare to each other at the same clocks.Temps and noise don't matter to me as either will be under water.

My Options

Evga GTX 780 Classified (B1 Revision)

or

(xxxx) R9 290

So far what i can see is that the 780 is about 1% behind the 290 both stock. 290 OC is about 14% Let´s say yours can handle it too underwater that souldn´t be a problem. The 290 would be about 15% ahead of the 780 Stock.

The only thing i am not happy about that keeps me from Switching to ATI are the Drivers (MY OPINION!) If you want to expand in the future to Two cards i would say 780gtx with you want to stay with one card ATI 290.

I just want to make a note. The Classified is one of the best clocking 780s available. Some have hit 1400 on Air and majority 1240+ on core compared to the Lighting.

Never had a problem with drivers from either side so

and yes i do plan to go SLi/CFx eventually

Yes i do agree AMD/ATi is working hard on their drivers.

I have a friend Who still uses a 5990 and is happy with it.
With BF4 even but in beta and after release of BF4 he struggles with his drivers Texture flickering and crashes mostly where i Have the problems now with major Flickering in bf4 since the resent patch only in sli so nvidia is a bit behind or EA screwed up btw unplayable flickering.

So in all go fir the best clocker if Money isn´t a Concern.

Hmmm...

For work i suggest you R9 290.
Cheap, powerful, loud (i suggest you case like Fractal Define R4...), hot (you can always apply new thermopads and thermal grease), doesn't require CF bridge connector, loves power (damnn the hippies). CF is not usually any huge problem, but you are going to get "enrage" in some games. In less than 30 days we should see non-ref coolers =) It's going to be painful for "green guys".

For games i suggest you GTX 780 (EVGA ofc, i love their "legendary" warranty).
Quieter, less power-hungry, runs cooler than "290" and better SLI support.

If the price difference is very small I'd go for the GTX780 just because of random driver issues with AMD. Other than that I HATE the boost feature and the limit voltage crap on NVidias.

So i think R9 290 would be great idea, even CF.
