Hi everybody.
Normally users try to OC cards as much as possible pushing the card to its limits. I got slightly different approach which also involves clock speed and voltage.
I would like to know what was the lowest voltage applied that You could achieve for the GPU to work.
My GPU is operating at 1085Mhz/1150Mhz with mem freq. set at 7000Mhz
Has anyone ever tried to drop default voltage leaving core clock at stock and succeeded or it would require core clock drop as well?
Also does it matter of the PCB u got like it's among CPU's which can OC differently or all the cards behave same way when supplied power drops down.
I know that I will have to check on my GPU myself but I wanted to know opinions of other GTX 780 TI's users and if anyone has ever tried something like that.

Thanks

Hi ratirt,
I don't have a 780Ti but being the same GPU this should still apply.. You're fairly limited to voltage on the standard bios (and unless you know what you're doing I don't recommend flashing it). That said my titans both run happily anywhere from 940mhz @ 988mV to 1150mhz @ 1225mV, I tried going lower than that and it started crashing a lot at around 970mV and lower clocks don't seem to help at that point. I like using the low voltage setting when I want to run the fans as quiet as possible while still running folding@home. It usually drops the watts from 750w to around 550w so there's a hell of a power saving to be had if you don't need max performance :)

Yeah that's what i'm talking about. During the weekend I downloaded evga precision and it's IMO better then afterburner for what I need. I've set the GPU so that it doesn't use all the power and performance when it's not needed. But I have trouble setting the voltage. Flashing bios is out of the picture since I don't wanna ruin my VC. I've set the fans for custom adjustment and so far it's pretty great. Thanks for the info. I just want to play my game(which in fact is not that performance hungry) and keep my card quiet and as cool as possible drawing less power. I will try again someday and see what I will get. I will definitely try with voltage but maybe I will need to upgrade soft first.

Apart from underclocking, just set a frame limit and the GPU will do the work itself whenever it has wiggle room.

Underclocking on Kepler is shaky at best, but you could use the power target slider for it. Anything over 1000mhz for 780ti takes exponential power.

Yeah I have noticed that when going beyond 1000Mhz it really needs a power kick. I have fiddle with the settings a bit and I think I got my sweet spot. For what I play this much power is not needed. Also have tweaked my fan speeds and it really is OK now. anyway I'm planning to set profiles to make sure I got all the settings with one click.
Thanks a lot guys :)

Just flash your card with skyn3t bios and take it to the max. I did running great year in now. Push it or sleep on it.o_O

I don't wanna flash anything. It's good now as it is :)
