Hello Friends,

Im searching for your opinion. I do have 2 of this card with the revision 1.0 (what means its the bedder vram!).
But extreme problems when it comes to overclocking my sli setup. I tried with afterburner but im not getting
stable. I do try my overclocks "ingame" for example AssasinsCreed Syndicate or on HeavenBenchmark.
Now some guys told me about going for a custom/ modded bios. Do anyone of you can help me with my overclock or tell me about a modded bios what does fit my card? And if it does make sense? I share my system information with you on the following link.

Its a Windows 10 64bit System.
I do have an ASROCK Extreme 6 with an i5 3570k on 4,5ghz.

People are wary of visiting web docs for system specs - I certainly am. Please post your system specs into your forum profile, that way people can see them without risking downloads from outside of TPU.

Well i tried to oc in afterburner like
with 120+ to the core
500+ to the mem and
70% Power Limit
85C on Temp Limit
and no volt addition

It will work some minutes (arround 10) and crashes.
Its really hard to find a working overclock with the SLI Setup.
When you force the card to run Kboost with Precision X it seem to be more stable.
But i dont want to run max voltage all the time.

I updated my specs :)

I overclocked for a while... in the end I just settle with stock clocks because I was getting to many articfats/game crashes.... I'm not about the bench scores really.

My 970 G1 (non sli) was able to go around +180 core +550-560 mem, no volt changes or anything else

they go as fast as they go.. 120 on the core is a lot.. 500 on the memory is silly.. i wont say any more.. :)

try 100 on the core and 200 on the memory.. they might work then.. he he

start over a OC +50 on core, +75 on memory, then go up decently, try your settings and try to find the most higher and stable results, patience will be necessary, so much ...

I have a steady OC of +120 core and +350 on the memory. Anything more than that I get crashes..

Fan curve?
i have done 175 on core 350 on memory, everything is fine there, tested on CS:GO and frame rate raises til 350, pretty fine with that,

what else more do you expect from the video card, also do you are running the card stock? no changes? how much have you been using it?

Regards,

I have been running at stock for a long time, Only OC now and then. Ive also seen people push their card to 300 core and 500 memory..

EVGA GTX 680 Super Super Clocked 2GB:

i have fan curve to max temp 85C, 100% fan speed,
i have replaced my thermal paste, used arctic MX4 , Reference blower cooler,
max core: 200
Max memory 300
if i go beyond those results will crash, also the fan is about to explode... have never touched voltages settings, everything i got is @ stock voltages,

older video card:
Gigabyte GTX 760 OC 2GB

max curve: 80C, fans at 100%, 70C> 90% 60>C80% and 50C70% and then ...
Repasted the card after one year running stock, no OC,
Then OC Results:
Core 250max
memory 350 max
Temps at 110% of usage never went beyond 75C, also the framerate on games like CS:GO was 350-390FPS, i used EVGA Precision X on steam and also OC Guru II from Gigabyte, have both of them for fan curve i prefer OC Guru II pretty easy and precise, i have noticed that EVGA is not that precise,

i frind have a GTX 670 from Gigabyte, that card has the same PCB of my current 680, have been wondering to make some tests with both cards,

im not a professional or big overclocker, im pretty sure there are a few pro's somewhere else here!

You should find the max for the core before you even touch the memory...

Reset all to defaults in afterburner, then set power limit to the max. Don't touch voltage offset yet (maxwell cards aren't helped all that often - and are often hurt - by giving them additional volts because of safety measures built into the cards).

Start at +50 on the core and work your way up from there in increments of 20. Once you find your max on the core, switch from stress testing to games to further test for stability.

Now you can add voltage offset to see if it buys you any additional headroom (it likely will not). You might need to play with the offset at diff levels. All the way up (+87mv?) may yield less gain than half way up. Varies card to card and sometimes, no offset is best.

FINALLY, you can increase ram speed and test further.

If you want a custom bios, send me your stock bios via PM, and I'll modify it to your specifications.

As for overclocking your card....there's a LOT of bad information in this thread.....I'd take it with a grain of salt.
