hy, i have a calibrestyle gtx580 and i'm having a serious problem with it. White lines all over the screen. Have tried every combination and it's defenately gpu problem. White lines dissapear under the mousepointer. Device manager says that gtx580 is installed but has "!" next to it. When windows strarts up it says taht it cant wind compatible hardware or something. as if it does not recognize the gpu. white lines are even in the bios. only time they dissapear completely is when there is the black windows loading screen.

try re-seating it, and you can download the drivers from Nvidia.com

How long have you had this card? Do you have a proper driver installed? It does sound like it's dying, so you may have to return it under warranty and get a new one. Also, what power supply do you have? Have you connected the pci-e power connectors to it? Also, fill in your user specs so we can see what kind of computer hardware you have please.
Edit: hmm okay, I see your specs.. I don't know the psu, but it's 80+ certified, so should be okay. I have to suspect the video card then.

Stupid question, is power in properly on the card and also in the pci-e slot fully?

i remember when my 8800ultra didn't work anymore. wasn't anything like this. seems like computer doesn't get a signal from the card and doesn't recognize it due to that.

could it be faulty cap. i know that faulty caps can let through wrong frequencies and such that could cause this maybe.

As someone has already mentioned, it's either dying or dead. I had exactly the same issue with a Gtx580 recently.
