You should be fine if the PSU is of decent quality, those numbers for the 12V1 and 2 are quite good, but if it's a cheap-o PSU and those are overrated specs...you will not appreciate the results. :toast:

Again, it depends on your PSU...give us more specs. Make/Model would be a good start. If it's a decent PSU, it'll handle a single card no problem.

As I said before the spec sticker is good..but if it's a crap brand or a cheap-o-rated unit...don't expect those specs to be worth much and you might have issues.

Edit: Just saw the GB Hercules...ya you should be okay.

You are more than fine for any of the choices you have listed. I've seen higher cards run on less power.

Your system might use 400w. But probably less

How good of a PSU is GIGABYTE HERCULES X 580? Not sure. There is not very many reviews on it but it doesn't look good

as far as i know these card has a tdp around 230-250 watt..plus my psu has a two 6+2 pci-e

The 7750? No its more like 60w Where did you get that info?

I concur with Jetster, the wattage is more than fine.

But, I couldn't find any info on the OEM of your PSU and I have the distinct feeling it's a POS.

A PSU is not a component you want to roll the dice with, so I'd pick up a better unit if I were you.

You are fine and will even have headroom. I'm running my 280X from a RM550 (though all of those 550 come from the 12V rail), which I believe could power 2x770 in SLI.

I just slapped a GTX570 into my G/F's rig to convert it into a more serious gaming rig for the boys. It's got an i3-2105 (w/HT) @ stock, ,4GB DDR3 1600, 2 HDD's, 1 DVD and now this GTX 570 1280MB, all running off of a Corsair CX430 without issue. I ran about 6 hours of OCCT PSU test, and while the PSU did exhaust pretty warm air it was never excessively hot. The card gets pretty toasty itself, but it's got the reference-style cooler so it exhausts its hot air out.

Just figured I would share that with anyone that's curious. I put this rig through some serious testing and it hasn't given any sign of weakness or instability. I'm not sure what the 570 consumes vs a GTX770...I suppose I could always try my 770 in her rig at some point after this week (finals week).

I built that rig 2-3 years ago now...all new parts, it's been a solid performer and really the iGPU had me most impressed... a 100% OC (I have a CM cooler on it..212 style but the model below that..TX4 I think, CPU never goes above 50C)...most of the kids' games played fine at 1080p...but the 570 I purchased used was a solid deal...and now it's a gaming rig just like that.

Mate, im running an a 130w cpu with 2x 290s and the watts get to about 600w.

Im pretty sure you will be fine!

I'm guessing he's talking about a 770GTX/R9 280x matey.

Yes Jester is right in saying that your PSU might not be that reliable. But.....

I'm using a 130w CPU and 2x 290 and I juice a little over 600w.

I'm pretty sure your PSU can handle it.

Cheers.

Disregard my response to this thread. I read everything but the title.

My only input is get a different PSU
