I need the fuse values in order to answer you. Probably it can unlock, probably not we will see.

The fuses should be similar to that:
CONFIG_DIE_FUSES = 0xXFFXXFFF
CONFIG_SUBSTRATE_FUSES = 0xFFFFFF9X
CONFIG_ROM_FUSES = 0xXX1
GB_PIPE_SELECT = 0xXXXX(X)

Post here your values like shown above.

overheating - around 90 deg iis shutdown temp of the core

only Rv480, 420 or 481 can clock higher than 450mhz

do you have any ideas why i cant overclock core more than 460 with atitool.?

My X850 Pro AGP that I got from the ATI Clearance back in August worked perfectly w/Dolf's Boot CD!!! I set it to read at X850XT PE. Has all 16 pipes in perfect working order. Put an ATI Cooler Rv 5 on it, and OC'd it. Pro Speeds- 500/500, My Speeds- 564/618. This card kicks ass for what I need.

One thing I noticed, even though the core runs cooler on mine, it hits the artifact point if I raise either core or memory much more (567/622), I was hoping to get it up higher, but I'm perfectly content w/a $119 vid card that will keep me goin till my next system upgrade!

I wish they still had that clearance deal, I shoulda bought another one or two of em!

thats good to hear. My x850pro is on its way from eBay. I also ordered a vf700cu zalman cooler, because even if i do not flash it, i will definitley be over clocking. I messed up the first time with flashing only because i put a pci bios on an agp card. Dolf, which of your automated flash utilities should i use?

Use X850PRO 16 pipes BIOS (single slot cooler) from that utility: http://savefile.com/projects/738578 but read the flash instructions first. Reinstall the drivers after the flash with the utility. I hope thet the fuses of that new card will be OK.

OK flash your card in DOS mode with provided BIOS using:

atiflash -f -p -newbios 0 gto16.bin

in the instructions, it says it will stop the fan. I will have an aftermarket zalman fan installed, does this make a difference? also, when you say reinstall the drivers after the flash...should i just uninstall, then reinstall the same x850pro drivers?

You will have fan problem only with the original single slot cooler and X850XT or X850XT PE BIOS. With Zalman or ATI Silencer you haven't to worry about. Uninstall the drivers and run the Catalyst installation again.

I hate to disagree with you, Dolf, but the ATI Silencer nabs it's power from the original fan connector (the one that the stock cooler uses). Wouldn't that still stop it?
I had the same problem. I tried modding my own BIOS, using other BIOSes (which stopped my fan), but ended up just using Dolf's CD. Why? Because Dolf is my lord and master and I'm sorry I ever doubted him.

From what I understand, there are two things that can limit your overclock. Heat and Core Quality. We all know that if the device you're trying to overclock becomes too hot, it will shut down. We all know that keeping it cool will give us a higher overclock. However, the quality of the actual core itself is another limit. No matter how cold you make the core, there is always going to be some point where it will tap out. An example of this is when you see people doing those crazy liquid nitrogen coolers. The processor is running at -200C, but it still taps out. The moral of the story is that heat isn't your only overclocking enemy.

Second, can enybody tell me if it safe to rise pci-express voltage in motherboard bios.
becourse i think my radeon have r480 core but i cant overclock over 460.But when i rise pci-express voltage from default 1,2v to 1,3v i can overclock core up to 500.

I dont want to broke my card so can enybody tell me if it safe to do that?

Yes both - the original fan and the ATI Silencer use one and the same connector but the difference hides in the fan's mounted on the original cooler and Silencer for instance. On X850XT (dual slot cooler) the fan speed is controlled by PWM (frequency modulation) but on the X800PRO, XT, XT PE (single slot) cooler the speed is controlled by voltage. ATI Silencer has fan which can work on both types of fan control (the speed regulation with X850XT/PE BIOS is not correct but the fan works ).

Core temperature

Hi,
what program everyone is using for measurement core temperature.
I install sapphire trixx programm but there is something wrong. becourse temperatur is sometimes 45 and sometimes 74 decrees, even computer is idle.

I that case just use my automated flash CD (bootable) for X800PRO VIVO AGP from here: http://savefile.com/projects/670063. Read the flash instructions (and how to burn it) and re-install the drivers if you flash with X800XT or XT PE BIOS. Start with X800PRO 16 pipe BIOS and test your max. core / memory clocks with 16 pipes before to continue further .

If i change pci-e voltage in motherboar bios 1,3v core overclock about 500 not anymore.
I check core and it is 480 memory chip is samsung 1,6ns.

Why i cant overclock more, (mAby becourse card dosent have extra power cord)??

However, i am wondering how much i should OC. stock clocks are 500/500 i have them oc'd right now only to 531/517
