Altho I do agree of Kratos being high up there shouldn't be top ten but not even a mention of BJ from Wolfenstein 3d either? Cmon now. "He" spawned a genre that "everyone" plays now, MMO FPS games. This list must have been compiled by some young gamers or the list was only a limited multiple choice based survey. I just find it odd that some of you didn't even know who he was. :ohwell:

EDIT:

I mean cmon, Leon was a pansy compared to Chris in the RE series.
Wolfenstein was great, but I don't think it was BJ that made it great. Not only talking about great games, but great characters, and BJ just never really amazed me.

16.Nathan Drake (Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Sony, 2007)

Sorry but i dont think Nathan Drake envokes legendary status or the spirit of gaming. Nathan Drake and Kratos are hardly legendary pop up characters of gaming. I would think it was more about how a character effected a series of games and fans.

Alex Kidd or what MailMan said about sub zero i agree they needed at least one MK character in there.

Jak from Jak and Dakstar no way man. TOTAL PISH! (pardon the language kids).
I don't think Drake should be up there, at least not that high, thought I still disagree about Kratos. Drake is cool, a good character, but you don't see Drake masks, or Drake weapons (non-Halloween stuff). And Uncharted are great games, but they have borrowed a lot from RE, and Devil May Cry. GoW forged its own path, and brought an amazing character along with it, one with a deep and twisted back story, and who goes through an insanely epic journey killing gods and even becoming one, that deserves the list, one of the best storylines out there, just feels epic playing those games.

Not that good, no.
Batman is the reason the Swiss keep guns in their house. A little known fact, it was originally called the "Batman Law".

Oh then he better hurry, and while he's at it, could he take down our soccer team as well?

Please, Batmans parents got killed.
Kratos was driven to kill his family (including daughter) himself by the God of War, so no emotions will stand in his way of being a perfect warrior. And their ashes cover his skin now so he will always be reminded of what he did. He seeks out to revenge the fucking Gods man. He rips off Helios' head and uses it as a flashlight.

Batman is a pussy compared to Kratos.

Also, they have different personalities and backgrounds. Batman is good. Kratos is an egoistic reckless maniac.
Come on if killing your family makes you the bad ass, even Arthas the Lich King will be up there.
Guess what he killed his family and lots of dudes in his freakin Kingdom.

TBH why is Naruto even up there?
And Pikachu WTF!?

It appears my post was deleted. Not sure why. Anyways, the general premise was that I was surprised to not see Sephiroth on the list.

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is soooooo good

I don't understand why Namco won't alter achievements and port it to PC. it seems ideal for Steam and only cost $10. I think PC Gamers would really enjoy it. when I say enjoy I mean become a slave. this game took 30 days of my life away and I don't even like Pac-Man.

It appears my post was deleted. Not sure why. Anyways, the general premise was that I was surprised to not see Sephiroth on the list.
Oh, right. Just realized there are 2 top 50 vidya game character threads. How embarassing.

You mean, whatever games, only some of the highest rated console games of all time, not a huge deal, only every single hack and slash game now copies God of War, basically spawned a genre, not a big deal...

Dante-Devil May Cry ring a bell?? way before GoW Just sayin.

Lists in any form really are never accurate they are made to sell something.
