H270 or B250?

Asus B250F Strix and Gigayte H270 Gaming 3

i like the look of the asus much more than the gigabyte one.
so which one should i buy with i5 7500?

They are both good motherboards.
I would compare the connection options, or just buy the Asus because of the looks.

I personally would go with the gigabyte, it seems to have a lot more features including usb type C

Any particular reason Newtekie? I got no complaints with the Gigabyte and I find ASUS overrated, just curious not a fanboy or anything

You say both are the same money. H270- has 20 PCIe lanes, B250 has 16 PCIe lanes. Both boards are pretty loaded, have the same amount of internal USB ports, but Asus has Displayport as well on the back. I'd say Gigabyte seems a better value to me. For the same money you get the better chipset.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I mean, ASUS isn't great in that department, but Gigabyte is the worst. I bought a GTX970 from them shortly after launch, a card I paid almost $400 for. The fan on it died about 3 months after I bought it. It took them almost another 3 months to get me a functional replacement. It was a fight the entire time to get a replacement. There is a thread documenting why I'll never buy a Gigabyte product here.

Good to know, I've never had to deal with their costumer service other than a few questions about the new boards

The H270 will not overclock

Gigabyte H270 can overclock. Memory frequencies and voltage is limited. I think with a Kaby CPU memory limited to 2400, Skylake is 2100

There motherboard department is top notice with customer servise. I was contacted by the VP of cistomer service for an RMA. Different department for GPU'S.
