I would try removing your sound card and using onboard sound. If this doesn't cure your problem, I would wager that it's a problem much deeper than your speakers. Speakers don't just make sound on thier own.

I assume it's a squealing type sound that occurs in high fps situations? May I ask what power supply / video card / sound card you are using?

Checkout speaker connection in ur sound card/built-in motherboard sound ports. Is it connected to the right one???

When I had my 4850, I would receive the same problem as you. I would hear squealing through my headphones whenever a high fps scene was introduced. I still haven't determined the source of origin, but I could never find an answer. The squealing itself poses no threat, but it sure is annoying as anything.
