There is a faint hit of the water reflection, look by the stairs down there that whole general area you can see some refection even though the room seems very dark. I'm not saying its real though.

where did you find this pic? maybe that could answer the problem.

Anyway i think its from some mod possibly some part of one of the half life 2 episodes that wasnt used some of it dosnt look as good as episode 2 so could be early build material, either that or concept art but i think its some thing that wasn't used.

Ah, I forgot were I saved it from. I just rember seeing it, saving the image and then posting this. I new that question would come up, but I don't recall were I got it from.

It is deff a fake, but I wanted to see what other people thought. Just buyin time untill the Next HL game is released.

The water reflections are fine, its the headcrabs and the barrel that is dodgy. Notice that without them, it bears no resemblance to the HL universe. If it was a screen shot you would be able to see the vertexes on the shaft hole. It cant be fan art, so its definately a hoax using a generic image and screenshots of HL2 monsters.

What do you mean? Water in the pic is pretty much photorealistic.

I don't think so. The Crabs and the FireBarrel have Photoshop/Fireworks Drop-Shadow effect. Plus the are soft around the edges - meaning they were spliced in there.

that would be cool for HL3, but it will not happen, they have no reason to change key elements of the game like the hud layout and the crowbar color. Unless they are going to put "hey Gordon, look at the new HEV suit we have had time to work on while were hiding and fighting looks like. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, you dropped this back in City 17, I went and got it for you, its blue now. Because I gave it a paint job."
