Original article:
This is tested on a default Original HTC Vive with combined resolution of 2160*1200 at 2.5 Million pixel to drive at 90Hz
For comparison, Valve Index is 2880*1600 at 4.6 Million pixel to drive at 120Hz or 144Hz
Regular 2560*1440 gaming monitor is 2560*1440 at 3.68 Million pixel to drive at 100~144Hz.
Super sampling at 150% or 200% scale does increase the performance demand drastically though.
For VR, you need a consistent 90Hz (90FPS) minimum to enjoy the experience without motion sickening. Otherwise motion smoothing will kick in. Although not deal breaker, it does reduce immersion by quite a bit.
First we have RTX 2060
Second, GTX 1060-6GB
Next we have 980Ti
GTX 970
R9 380
