Does anyone here play Halo Infinite Multiplayer on PC. I want to see what kind of performance people are getting in this game compared to mine. I'm playing at 4K on High settings and noticed I only get about 60-78 FPS while playing. But it never drops below 60FPS.

Sounds like it's not quite as good as The Masterchief Collection. On that version of Halo, I can easily get 60 FPS in UHD, albeit there are dips, usually to the 50s. That's with high as well. On my Radeon RX 5600 XT.
I haven't even tried looking for Infinite on Steam yet.

It's actually pretty fun and it's free so I gave it a shot which says alot as I've never been a Halo fan

I'm at about 90-110fps indoor and 60fps ish outdoor at 1440p, mix of high and medium settings. But I'm pretty sure I have the dynamic resolution scaling thing disabled because min fps is disabled, probably not helping my FPS.

My gripe is still with the fact that the framepacing is really wonky. It should be smooth but it isn't, feels like 45fps even at 90.

Unlike initial impressions, I can confirm G-sync clearly works without enabling windowed Gsync, despite there being no real fullscreen mode (G-sync indicator from NVCP), but it's just choppy like no other game.

I did have the same experience in MP and MP beta, so they haven't improved anything on that front.

Campaign is fun though.

It's on Xbox game pass. $1 for 3 months, plenty of time to play the campaign.

Then come back in a couple of months when they add coop, and hopefully it'll have been through a sale on steam by then.

Haven't played a Halo game in ages though I did beat the first 3 on legendary (I remember the stupid battlefield with invisible elites in Halo 1, took so many tries to beat, you start off ok and get about half the enemies killed then WHAP, bort bort bort).

Reminds me of dedicated server issues on Halo Custom Edition. (Halo 1x, which is DirectX9) I can easily rip along with 100-something FPS, but it sometimes feels like 15 FPS!
So it feeling like 45 FPS, on Halo Custom Edition, is sometimes unsurprising at all!

Halo Custom Edition, is still soo alive!

Halo Custom Edition multiplayer is still alive, thanks to the concept of real-deal dedicated servers! Online multiplayer, is where it's at!

Congrats, lucky you. It's been a pretty established issue since way back in the first MP beta flight, for G-sync and Freesync displays - frames are fine but it's far choppier than the combination of said framerate + G-sync should ever be. You definitely have to look closely to spot it if you have 100+ fps though, and if you're playing on a TV it might not be visible at all from a few metres away.

Good examples are the classic indoor scripted missions that aren't actually in the game world (100+ fps, hard to notice except on foreground areas when moving), and the tac map (runs at max fps, doesn't show any choppiness).

Fortunately I did finally manage to fix mine. Sadly, it's just yet another game not knowing how to implement Vsync and refresh rate properly (War Thunder after I think patch Red Skies had the same problem). Solution was to turn off in-game Vsync, turn off min and max frame rate in-game, and force Vsync through NVCP instead. And force highest refresh rate possible.

Runs exactly as smooth as 60-90fps G-sync should now - I've got Genshin (locked 60fps G-sync) and War Thunder (capped 90fps G-sync) as near-perfect benchmarks to compare.

I’m using a FreeSync Premium display that is also G-Sync compatible. I have G-Sync enabled for 4K 120

Disappointing FPS rates, 1080p ultra slower than UHD high on Masterchief Collection! (MCC) Now, I wonder if it will be tough as CP2077!

Looks like the first Halo, where I'm possibly required to use a custom VBIOS on my RX 5600 XT!

Gee, this might be in Superposition-1080p-Extreme territory!

Halo Infinite Benchmarked: Master Chief Eats Tons of VRAM | Tom's Hardware (tomshardware.com)

I've been thinking about the performance to 30-35 FPS drops that some are reporting (inc at the above Tomshardware link). I've had the same problem throughout my single player playthrough and multiplayer. However, switching high res texture DLC off seems to have solved the problem. I have a 5700 XT 8GB and the VRAM never got above 8GB playing at 1080p. I am connected at PCI 3.0 x8 (not 16). The 6600xt on the PCI 3.0 test bed used by Tomshardware would also be running at PCI3.0 x8. I wonder if Halo Infinite is hammering the PCI bus at times in a way that leads to the degraded performance? (Radeon software tells me I have SAM on (though only using a Ryzen 2600, B450 ROG STRIX).

Why? Are you using a Ryzen 3 3200G or similar? That's a Picasso limitation. (and the earlier equivalent)

IIRC, the Ryzen 5 2600 does PCI-E 3.0 x16. (Pinnacle Ridge)

2x M2 drives each having pci 3.0 x4 results in the the pci 3.0 x16 slot being limited to x8 lanes. Mostly this is largely irrelevant for gaming, but I wondered if it might be for halo infinite for some reason

I play this multiplayer and generally see frame rate around 100 at ultra settings at 3440x1440P this games gets a nice boost with SAM on also.
