i heard that dfi's are not for novice ocers. the bios is bloated with loads and loads of options that you gotta set correctly in order for it to work, etc. etc.

There are settings in the bios that I have no idea what they do.DFI boards are out of my league.Maybe I set something wrong and fried it.

Had the board with a opteron 170.The FSB would not go over 230.Anything over that it would reset over and over. After I went through that a few times,I took the opty and ram put with a different motherboard. Then I started to get errors with my ram. Then I put 4000+ in the DFI with different ram and it ran just fine.I never did mess with ram settings.

If you're interested in giving it away let me know, I have a nice 939 cpu I wanna try in it. I'm pretty proficient with that sort of stuff!

Netgear: Never works right, one of the worst methods to install them (wifi is off on default...dumbass'). I always had solid performance with most DLINK products (some are duds, but if you find there good ones...rock solid).

ECS: Never works what so ever. There newly made boards are stale, comes with old bios. Very cheap, dies with no reason.

LITE-ON: There drives dont work on many boards, lot of basic boot disk cannot even see the drive. Installing windows = BSOD.

LSI Logic: Cannot even install a $1000 dollar SCSI card. Windows drivers are newer than the supplied drivers and they dont work. I had to dish out my old early '90 adaptec scsi card to install windows and drivers, then switch over to the LSI.

Intel Mobo's: Utter crap, takes forever to post. Bios menu is horrible.

Netgear I agree with completely, my friend once owned a Netgear router with a voltage problem...the built-in power supply would take in EIGHTEEN VOLTS on a 12V adapter .

Lite-on, though, I love. My drive is a bit noisy, but that's what NoCD cracks/Valve Steam are for, and it gets the job done. I haven't had to worry about an optical drive failure...ever.

The only company I'd never buy from again is nVidia just because their drivers suck ass. It's been about 4-5 months since some bugs popped up (more specifically the FPS dropping for no reason in CS:S and video playback tearing up) and I've yet to see a driver fron nVidia fixing these (and other) issues. Yeah, nVidia has very powerful hardware but what good is it if it doesn't run right? I mean... at least ATi releases new drivers on a monthly basis which actually FIX something... -_-

edit: I've never had any problems with the companies that have been mentioned in here though... it's been around 6 months since I bought my Rosewill PSU and it's been working fine the whole time. My old Asus board still runs (the P5NSLI), I've never seen an MSI motherboard fail nor did I have a problem with my Intel stuff. I guess I've been pretty lucky so far :D (knock on wood)

what walmart do you go to that has logitech? the 6 walmarts i frequently go to have microsoft and linksys for hardware. not much else. acer laptops, lexmark printers, hp desktops. thats about it. never seen any logitech at walmart.

Mine does. Not much, but it does. My Wal-Mart hardly sells a computer as a whole let alone a laptop.

Is that just INtel motherboards in general or do you mean the Intel motherboards with intel chipsets? My last Intel motherboard was on a PII system. It has all been AMD since then up until now with my Q6600. Board runs fine. Quick to boot. (no pun intended)

I've had bad experience with most of the manufacturers I purchased items from.

All my HDDs are of different makers (except 2 of the Western Digitals) and I've seen all of them with certain issues one time or another (Maxtor, Seagate) I haven't seen any problems yet though with my new Samsung Hybrid Drive 160GB and my new 120GB Toshiba Drive (both for notebook) but I think I'll see problems in the future...new and fine doesn't mean you won't get any problems in the future does it?

I've had no video card problems whatsoever though but I've been using nVidia for the last 3-4 years no but I'd add I never had a problem with the ATi 3D Rage card I had previously to my 2 MX440s which I run both my desktops with (No I don't game on the desktops lol).

RAM: No problems whatsoever with any company.

Motherboards: No problems either and I run ASUS on this desktop which is the P4S8X-X.

CPU: I've never tried AMD (although I'd like to) but my friend owns one and didn't find problems with that. To the intel side of stuff I've been fine with them since Pentium 1 (I believe it ran at 90MHz totally for gaming nowadays lmao).

Sound Cards: I've never owned anything from Creative. I have mostly stuff from realtek. I could add realtek has some difficulty in the settings (software side) but I fixed it easily on my notebook and it has good sound processing.

Speakers: The only known brand I've used..Creative..got their T7900 now and it hasn't given me problems.

Optical Drives: I run 2 Samsung DVD-Rams on this desktop and AOpen Combo + BenQ DVD-/+
RW on the other. I've used another AOpen combo on this desktop and had a Waitec Drive before. No problems except one of the combos simply started losing power and now lost enough power not to view a dvd. But it does well on cds lol.

PSU: Never got any specific brand and all worked well.

Wireless & LAN: I've only used D-Link and I'd add it's just fine.

Wireless Adapters: PRO/Intel 4965 AGN some problems which are bound to be solved by upcoming drivers so I just won't bother to argue as I still connect through it.

Even if I've had bad experiences one time or another with any brand I came across I wouldn't say I wouldn't buy again from the manufacturer. That's plain stupid.

.......yeah that's right, people shouldn't abandon it just cause they have one bad experience with it.... all stuff have error, all stuff have mistakes ect.... anyway and anyhow talking for myself If have bad experience with it.... it make me distrust the whole brand that I think of abandon it cause I do not want to have problem with it again but yeah people should not abandon it just for one bad experience they have with it.

so.... heard many bad news about MSI
