Don't see it in stock anywhere, even Newegg/Amazon have removed all but a handful of listings. The few listings that can be found are either out of stock or have an accompanying price that is the sole reason it isn't so.

based on the short search on google i did, and the titles of many of the threads/articles ive seen, i wouldnt blame AMD for pulling them, looks like another Fury, with a different name, and the same disappointment.....atleast based on the articles im seeing. i personally have no experience with them, so im not saying "this or that", but Im going to guess based on the results of my search, that theres a bunch of folks who spent their hard earned $$ on them, and are genuinely pi$$ed off, but will defend the GPU to their death just the same, to save face, etc, or to stop from feeling like they threw away their $$....i feel bad if it is truly the case...again

"Vega’s performance disappoints as AMD loses ground to Nvidia in GPU market"
"AMD Allegedly Loses $100 On Every Radeon RX Vega 64 GPU Sold"
"AMD Vega is a bit of a disappointment."

i did find this on newegg.com

Expensive silicon , they can't hold a huge stock of them around regardless of how successful it is.

but Im going to guess based on the results of my search, that theres a bunch of folks who spent their hard earned $$ on them, and are genuinely pi$$ed off, but will defend the GPU to their death just the same, to save face, etc, or to stop from feeling like they threw away their $$....i feel bad if it is truly the case...again
I don't think your guess is right , benchmarks were available and it was priced accordingly to what the competitions has at that price point. No reason to be pissed if you bought one, unless you are an idiot who most likely doesn't know what is buying anyway.

I knew that but that fact doesn't account for all the listing that evaporated. So the truth of the matter is reference cards have been discontinued to make room for non-ref cards that are pretty much vaporware atm since they've been promised to hit the shelves October 1st and are still no where in sight.

Just like theirs always an expert who hasn't got one tried one but knows some shit cos,,, Google.

Vega's not been discontinued , miners and gamers have snapped up all released stock , their scarecity is likely due to amd Managing production as a chip maker should.

It's not a matter of them being out of stock, the listings ARE gone.

Do you mean the reference cards because I can buy one (strix)from Scan uk and pre order other Aib types, surely you understand AIB partner's make their Aib cards so Amd can stop actually making all the refs for them to sell ,thereby allowing Aib cards the market, dont believe the bull vegas the Top mining card atm , when setup right its efficiency and productivity is impressive , and that's where they're going.

Reference cards are gone. AMD probably don't wanna deal with the rebate discount situation with retailers.

As for 3rd party Vega I have not seen much in stock anywhere.

Hopefully Vega refresh with GDDR6 next year will lighten things up a bit for AMD.

EDIT: Oh my, searched on Amazon. $1000+ for a Vega? WTF?

You'd think after Fiji they would have learnt a few lessons, but it seems they have fallen even further down the rabbit hole.

Performance is decent enough against the competition but it's extremely late to the market, it's a much larger more complex chip and it's availability sucks even now.

After all the hype, it's a bit of a distaster frankly as far as launches go.

Vega did try to address a lot of short comings of Fiji. Like way higher clock speed without going to insane power consumption, and remove some bottle necking of up stream rendering. But still too little too late.

Also, Man I LOLed so hard at your profile pic. Raja indeed is inside Intel now.

At the end of the day AMD do achieve wonders with the R&D budget they have, the saving grace is Ryzen has been a huge success, and it looks like Ryzen 2 is set to build on that.

They will come good in the end.

It's the same situation with NVIDIA FE cards. Very hard to find now.

I don't see any AIB Vega cards in stock anywhere. With the cost of manufacturing them, the few AIB's that will make them and the miners that will immediately buy them up Vega for "regular consumers" is done.

This of course will help NVIDIA to keep prices high for us mere gamers. :ohwell:

Next gen 80Ti would be over $900 if RTG remains in a state like current.

I hope this is just speculation from W1zzard (from the just posted Best of 2017):

Next gen 80Ti would be over $900 if RTG remains in a state like current.

I hope this is just speculation from W1zzard (from the just posted Best of 2017):

I pretty much said the same thing in a thread a few weeks ago. While Vega is not uncompetitive by any means, it isn't competitive enough, and it's late. That might not have been a problem if its predecessor Fiji hadn't suffered from the exact same issues, but... yeah. If they make the same mess with Navi for the third time in a row, I do think it will be curtains for RTG in the consumer PC market (not necessarily the entire PC GPU market - I feel like they would still continue to produce GPUs for high-margin environments like data centres and miners).

It's quite a shame actually - AMD had competitive GPUs for a long time, but a crap CPU - now the situation is reversed, pretty much just as Ryzen was hopefully going to start clawing back laptop market share.
