My primary cruncher is a Precision T5500 running 24/7. It’s got 2x Xeon X5687s and 72GB ECC . Occasionally I’ll utilize my primary rig when I’m not using it. Lastly, I have installed the client on another basement PC with a Threadripper but I have largely forgotten about that until now, so it has not done anything

I sadly rarely crunch with my X5675's or my L5640's I have The Ryzen CPUs are definitely a massive push forward compared to what we have used to be lucky to deal with... Intel and quad cores seem to have been going for ages, bit of a change now!! Great to have you on the team! I hope you're happy in the forum

Well today's is even better! One more member and that's making a lovely 57 members today contributing today... I hope everyone's weekend has been great and that they are still having a good time!! Even though for some reason, Monday is already near us... Where did the weekend go??......

Threadripper 3960X. I've considered upgrading the Xeons to 6-core X5690s, but I also sometimes use that rig for gaming, so it's probably better to benefit from the slightly higher-clocked X5687s I currently have.

Threadripper 3960X. I've considered upgrading the Xeons to 6-core X5690s, but I also sometimes use that rig for gaming, so it's probably better to benefit from the slightly higher-clocked X5687s I currently have.

The X5690's are OK, but they are 130w CPUs which doesn't really help with the efficiency side of things. The L5640's where a little better but the problem with those are that they are just 2.26GHz I think?? But they are 60w (I think..... Been a while since I looked at some!!) Suppose you could over clock them a little....

The X5675's might be a better option, faster and 90w CPUs I think, base speed is either 2.93GHz or 3.06GHz, I forget which off the top of my head!

I do love my Threadrippers, I'm very lucky and daft at the same time but I live with it lol All of my Ryzen CPUs are voltage limited so that slows them down a bit, so that in turn lowers the wattage they use I think my 3900X's which I use at the moment mostly, they are 150w or so (give or take) under 100% load, full system power I do even limit my Threadripper to try and contain the beast and 64 threads... Even with a kilo mass of water block on the CPU and a 560mm rad to cool it, I don't wish for it to get stupidly hot... I like to try and keep things around the 50C 100% load temp so in the summer months, they don't hopefully go over 60C or more when its rather hot....
