So, who among TPU has had an XBOX 360 fail? Who has had it fail multiple times? Who has avoided the plight?

I have had two 360's RROD, the first one RROD'd and i sent it in, and Microsoft sent me back a new one(the same console i believe) and it worked for about a year and a half or so and RROD'd again.

BUT. Keep in mind these systems were pre-2008, so they were the older models, i am going to get another and make sure its a current made model. Like i said before, its MUCH better now then when they were first launched.

I also have plans to get a PS3 slim.(i had a 60GB PS3 ''fat'' at one time)

I've had mine for just 2 years now. It has just now started to act up on me. freezes every so often. But, then for the past 8 months I may turn it on whenever I hear there is a update and that's it.. No time much for that anymore..

Well I've never owned a 360 so the one I didn't buy is running smooth as silk. However in reality if I did buy one with my luck the retail box would spontaneously explode the second I put it in the trunk of my car.

My Xbox 360 hasn't died on me yet, and it's an early '05-'06 model. *Knock on wood*

I didn't make any modifications to my Xbox 360 either.

I think that's probably because there aren't many cooling problems in Alaska.:roll:

Actually it can get 90+ (F) degrees here in the summer, and in a house without air conditioning the heat sucks.

In the winter the house stays around 70-75F.

I had my original launch model fail after a while. I sent it to microsoft and the replacement red ringed after a few months as well. I replaced the X-clamps on the heat sink and revided it but that added only about 4 more months to it's life span before it finally collapsed.

I then got a replacement arcade model (Jasper revision). The newer model is much cooler and quieter due to the smaller chip size. The heat would degrade the solder in the older model's gpu socket and warp the motherboard, leading to the rrod; but the newer model does not seem to have this problem.

FYI guys minus one vote from the "Smooth as Silk" option. I clicked on it as a joke.

So if everyone's been honest we're at 8 that haven't failed and 16 that have, if you count the ones that failed multiple times we are probably near 8-30.
