Looked around, didn't see it posted already...

HD 4770's in All Crossfires!

http://www.tweakpc.de/hardware/test...4770_x2_x3_x4_dual_tri_quad_crossfire/s01.php

I mostly looked at the 1920x1200 4x/16x graphs, and from that viewpoint, triple Crossfire wouldn't be that bad IMO. I'm also accounting for the e-Peen points :)

I'm so going for it! After I have the money for an Asus P6T7/i7 setup..

Yes, they are quite nice, a couple here have posted some nice results in Crossfire but strangely ATi had said they are not TriFire compatible?

Edit: Just studying the 2nd graph, the tri 4770 performance is about the same as a single GTX260?, three 4770's cost almost twice as much as a single GTX260 in the UK, that cant be right can it?

4x HD4770 costs 396 USD (99 each) and the cheapest HD4870X2 cost 379 USD... and in most games the HD4870X2 is better than the HD4770 QuadXFire... nice but not great...

well obviously the best scaling is 4770 X2, as 4GPUs will not scale that well... and it's the same for any graphics card... including a quad-fire 4870... the scaling will be quite poor too.

Yup. That's why I'm most stoked about a triple (vs quad) 4770 setup. Maybe after those XFX 1GB models hit stores. Hmmm...

Yea, with it being similar price to the 4870x2, there no point in x4. The 4870x2 probably uses less power, and makes less heat...

Also, the 4870x2 uses one slot, how many people have 4 PCI-E slots at x8 or higher? lol.

IMO, good scaling, but pointless.

mind this is only at 1900x1200 at very high image quality, 4AAx16AF. 4770s will do better at lower resolutions. Still people who can buy 3x 4770 will probably use 1900x1200, so this post is pretty pointless :D.

PS: note 2x4770=1x4870 (1gb) ...did expect to score more...

Yes the 1GB cards do sound interesting, however I would be a little concerned that with 1GB of memory the card would take an icreased hit from the limitations of the 128bit bus.

100% agreed , that's what im want to say it , i expect the performance jump up about 20% - 30% with 1G 4770 in tri and quad crossfire

Wheres the 295 in all this? Or is it just an AMD "look at me" fest?

Either they can't afford to get a 295, or there are no 295's available for them to get for free or to buy. They do have a 285 however.

And it's hardly an AMD "look at me" fest because there are more Nvidia setups than AMD/ATI.
