Ok, so first i thought of getting HD 5870, keep it until the end of the year and get gtx 480 to replace it but we all know what a failure fermi turned out to be...

I will still be missing Physx though so i was thinking of hooking up HD 5870 as main card (and later on maybe 5970) and GTS 250 for Physx through the Physx mod (thanks for the guide brandon)
My question is that would this work good on Asus Crosshair III Formula which has dual x16/x16 pci-e slots?

Help is appreciated.

I attempted to set it up on my system two days ago using my 5870 and an 8800GT for PhysX, but I failed miserably. Could have been my install, but as soon as I hit something with PhysX in Metro 2033 I got red stripes.

I may have to reinstall Windows again ><

Should not be a issue at all setting up the nvidia card for physx with your 5870. I'll hopefully be doing the same shortly

Oh crappy, i hope i won't face anything like that if i decide to hook it up since the GTS 250 isn't even that expensive yet alone after the price wars between AMD and NV that is coming soon.

I ran two 5850's with a GTS250 for PhysX just fine. Worked without a hitch, just follow that guide. I don't really use PhysX so I no longer have the card in.
