What? Are you sure? Why should one want to remove the master drive? I don't believe it's normal. Not with an internal HDD anyway.

It's pretty standard with hard disks connected to an nForce disk controller. edit-> with the nVidia drivers not the windows drivers

Maybe they're thinking you just might be using one of those eSATA things.
