ok i formated the wrong hard drive and i was wondering if there was a program out there that would allow me to recover those files some of those files were very very important and any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes James there is a way, but since it already has new data on it it will most likely not work now.
Here are some you can try-

sorry but no way to recover after a full format!
if you have made a quick i don't know never checked my drive what's on but a format destroy all;only a delete can be recover

He did not do a low level format, it was just an NTFS quick, but I copyed some of his files from my drive to his, I doubt he can recover any of it now but he can try.

depends, a full format will leave your drive brank. a quick format will leave your drive flagged as empty, data recovery software can retrive stuff that is flagged, but a full format will destroy all data

i think i havent seen any software in the last 5 years that does a full format .. 250 gb HDD = 45 mins

Who does a full format these days anyway, there's not much point.
Hell, a LLF is waaaayyy too much for the average user. I'm thinking that if the guy did a full format, he's hiding something.

full formats are used to get rid of viruses and for selling purposes, if you sell your computer/hdd without doing a full format, people can recover your donkey porn..

haha thats what Muffin has been telling people is on the drive. I know he did not do a low level (I live a few miles from him). But he did ask me to get him some files (270 some gigs worth) and those did write over the former contents of the drive, I doubt he can recover it but hes still trying I think.
