That's why I use USB. I see so many dead boards from the result of using winflash.. RMA it and do a fresh install like others have said you will be back in the game!

Next time you flash an Asus board, use a usb stick and the flashing utility in the bios. It works amazingly well.:toast: *Oh make sure you clear the cmos before the flash so everything is at stock settings.

Yeah I always did it via USB, I was just feeling at little lazy and frustrated at the time with my X2 so I just used it and got gg'ed. Once I get this all sorted out never will I repeat this mistake on any board. :toast: Thanks for the Help everyone.

Wow!

OMG guys after fighting long and hard with my HD3870X2 flashing it and reflashing it fresh install of vista, fresh install of Windows 7 and instaling and reinstalling CCC over and over again I have finally figured out why my second core was never being used on my X2.....

Apparently when the card is hooked up via compentent cable to my 1080i HDTV the cards internal crossfire becomes disabled as reported by GPUz and the second core on the card is not used as shown by rivatuner (but I can play in 1920x1080). However, when played on a normal 17 LCD via the DVI/VGA output, GPUz reports Crossfire being enabled and games use my GPU1 as indicated by Rivatuner (But I play on max res for a 17'').

All my suffering and BS was from this. If this happens to anyone I hope they find this thread and save time and their life my reading it.

3DMark Vantage actually forced me to plugin my old LCD screen since it wouldn't work on my HDTV...

was reading this thread, and noticed it was 2 months ago. Good to have an update. I had a similar problem with my 9800GX2, where if you were using 2 monitors you had to disable SLI. I decided to downgrade to a 4870 instead, and overclock the crap out of it.
