Hi all, I have a HD5970 with a Swiftech Epsilon waterblock and dual 120mm radiator/pump/drive combo kit (my i7 950 is also in the loop).
I've been overclocking the card and noticed two things:
1. Speedfan won't read the temps from the ATI card, it was working with my NVIDIA GTX 285, but the ATI card shows no GPU temp in Speedfan, even after drive and Speedfan re-installs, anybody familiar with that issue?
2. Using GPU-Z, my temps under load (furmark) has the gpu topping out at 51 C (which is fine), but the VDDC temps are getting in the mid-to high 80s (C), I'm told I can remove the thermal pads from the Epsilon block and do a hard-mount with grease, but that is a little risky and I thought it might put me at risk for the "cold bug", anybody have any advice, should I just leave it with the thermal pads or go for the grease?
Thanks,
Shawn
