HDD dead

My Samsung 500gb HDD just died on me yesterday and I was think getting a WD 300gb Raptor or maybe a 120gb SSD for boot and maybe a WD black for storage. So which is more reliable, a Raptor or a SSD? I just need a little bit speed to load my programs and games.

If I go with a SSD, I don't know hwat to get. My cousin told me that I should stay away from OCZ, but not the Vertex 4.

M4 and get a lil' 500GB for your documents. Doesn't have to be anything fancy.

I'm in a budget. Since you recommend me the m4, but I've look at the Corsair Force Seires 3 and Force Series GT have simliar and close to same prices. Those 3 I have in mind, and Corsair is a good company. So which is more reliable?

Get a big SSD and you don't have to spend money on another HDD.

If you ask me, I would get a Samsung 830. The Vertex 4 might be fast, but I don't know about the reliability because its only been released recently. The Samsung 830 series on the other hand, has been released for quite some time and has many rave reviews.
