I bought the hard drive 6 months ago
It's okay if these discs are reliable. I just read that they are bad.

Test for bad sectors using Error Scan on HD Tune (the free version); if there are none it is reliable.

Fine. Then look how many hours it's been on since then, and do some basic math. Since you've used it, you can't be exact, but if you leave your computer on for 8 hours a day, see how long HD Sentinel says it's been powered on. if it says around 50-80 days, that's reasonable. If it says 418 days, it's a refurb.
