Hello good forums. It's been 6 months since I bought the hard drive. but it works noisy even at idle. how do you think? (WD Blue 1 TB 7200 RPM WD10EZEX)

Welcome to Western Digital HDD's they're all bloody noisy I have two blacks and a red the red is a little quieter but not by much I also have a Seagate 2TB which is near noiseless as is the Samsung 1TB

I see them come in failed daily at my shop. WD Blue drives are easily the worst on the market IME.

Even back then? I thought the older blues were pretty highly regarded..

I'm glad it's not just me. Bought a 1TB WD Black late last summer and put it into use December '20, clatters and rattles like crazy. Functions 100% and CrystalDisk/HDTune say it is good, health 100%, no errors showing in either. It is unsettling. I didn't expect this level of "quality".

Edited to say this isn't my first WD Black purchase, this is my 8th one over the last 20 years.
