I have purchased quite a few drives from goharddrive, either directly from their site, eBay, but most often though Amazon Prime. I've been slowly stocking up on HGST 7K4000 3TB drives for my next budget server RAID array. I've been happy with all the purchase I've made from goharddrive, but I've never purchased through Newegg.

Just for anyone not familiar with them: https://www.goharddrive.com/

Same hard drive on their page from them for $20 more, so the Newegg deal is a good way to go, also why I purchase from Amazon Prime: https://www.goharddrive.com/HGST-Ultrastar-HE6-HUH728060ALE600-6TB-HDD-p/g01-1115-cr.htm

Here's the same drive Amazon Prime from goharddrive: https://www.amazon.com/HGST-Ultrast...155&sr=8-1&keywords=huh728060ale600+-+0f23269

I haven't had to RMA a drive, but their 1-2 year warranties from what I've seen have been solid and they do work with their customers. For cheaper storage for whatever reason, in my case it was for a budget RAID setup, these guys are the way to go. $120 for that drive is a solid deal IMHO.

UPDATE: Purchased 1 from Newegg = 3 year GoHardDrive (seller) Warranty (2 year factory until 2020)

Power on count when received 13.
Drive was wiped and had to be initialized (GPT) and formatted (NTFS).
Did a full surface scan with HGST Drive Fitness Test: PASS (approx 9 hrs. to test)
DOM: November 2015
Reallocated Sectors: 5
Power on DAYS: 465 days

According to HGST website these are EOL drives. Size has increased over time.

If you buy from AMAZON they advertise NO BAD SECTORS but only 2 year warranty. https://www.amazon.com/HGST-Ultrast...words=huh728060ale600+-+0f23269&tag=tec06d-20

Damn, you and @Kursah had me putting that in my cart and almost clicked! My budget can't handle any extraneous purchases right now, but I've got it on my PC Wishlist...

$120 at Newegg and $125 at Amazon but with trade offs with regards to being cherry picked and warranty terms.

If I have a problem I understand I get service through GoHardDrive.

My drive has one very small dimple in the aluminum top plate near the edge of the drive in the white label area above and to the left of the HGST signature. The label is not scratched or cut but I can feel it and see it. Because it is near the frame edge I do not expect it to cause a problem but worth documenting.
