Hello, just bought a rx 570 sapphire nitro+ from ebay but it is not being identified by gpu-z, or radeon settings

Evidently, this card was modded. I have already tried to move the "bios switch" in the card, and still it's not solving the issue.
This is what appears in gpu-z, yeah no info at all.

If anyone could help with understanding what's the issue and how to return it to its default settings so it can be used for regular casual and gaming use I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

I would return it, this is one of the dangers of buying from Ebay.

Even modded cards should show up in GPU-Z, I have flashed several cards in my day, from 6950 to 6970, etc and GPU-Z never had an issue reading them even way back then... I wouldn't risk it. Return it for a refund, and save up some more money and just buy yourself a RX 580 new for like $140... they are seriously cheap now.

Lets start off with a picture of the white sku sticker from the back of the card, sometimes they are found on the side of the cards heatsink, post it here.

Then I want you to pull the card apart and verify what brand of ram is on the card, take a clear picture of 1 of the ram chips and post it here.

Wow, I have never seen anything like that. Zero info from gpuz, wow, I would agree return it unless it was free.

@requeola
Taking it apart can void any warranty it may have left and the seller can claim the buyer damaged it. Not a good idea.

...return it. Dont try to fix it, just return it.

thats assuming there still is warranty and has been transferred, if any numbers are gone so it any chace for RMA. The first thing I would do on a used card from untrusted source such as ebay would be to replace the thermal paste, which also give a chance of taking pics of whats underneath, info @eidairaman1 wants to do his thing.

I doubt the seller would accept the return, he knowingly sold a janky card, I expect he'll try to avoid any further contact.

That's why I said "may" have left. Regardless he shouldn't be taking it apart assuming he wants to at least try and return it/file a claim which be needs to be doing.

The issue is that you were cheap and bought used electronics off eBay. Take this as an expensive opportunity to learn from your mistake.

If the seller won't do a return/refund and ebay doesn't help you then if you used a credit card to make the purchase you can report the transaction to them as fraud.

You Should only Attempt to Fix any EBAY Card after you have exhausted all avenues's of payment/return Options
Only then if the "Seller Does not want Card Returned" can you try to repair/recover it to a working Card.

Those who come here for help only want help with the problem, not to be berated for what they bought, we don't know their entire situation so please ease up on him we might be able to just fix this card, then again we might not, however @dorsetknob is right.

As for me ive seen cards with blank info and had a chance to restore them via software, then again some required a Forced SPI flash.

Id like to see physical pictures of the entire card even with heatsink off.

Try to fix the card without taking it apart if that is the route chosen. ;)

It is what is needed to know what Memories on the card possibly even the GPU die itself, if he is not able to return the card we might as well just do it that way considering there are plenty of 450 GTS and 550 TI that appear as 1050 or 1060 s here.

Until this person replies again all we can do is just wait if y'all hadn't scared him off already

I understood what you wanted out of it, but the chronology is just wrong how it was laid out (until your last post - others chimed in before that). :)

The first thing you said (outside of looking at the sticker) was to take it apart. At that time, we have no idea if he can return it or whatever. So if he followed that instruction, if there is anyway he can return it either by warranty or bum card through ebay, that voids the warranty and/or leaves him open for the seller to refuse because he can easily say he borked the card. Now, if he doesn't plan/can't return it, by all means, take it apart! :)

I buy plenty from ebay, never ever an issue, you need to filter out the stores based on feedback quantity.

That usually happens when you mod the bios, if that's the case you need to patch the drivers or flash the stock bios

He has not returned. Also I know a user who has modded the bios and not required a patch of the drivers.
