Help...asus bw-12b1st will not read blu-ray dvd

I bought an ASUS BW-12B1ST Blu-ray writer...installed and it didnt read ANY dvd...deleted from devices and restarted...it then played dvd's but NOT Blu-ray dvd...it lists as BD player under Computer...I run ANY DVD HD and it recognizes it as a blu-ray writer, but no play...OS is VISTA. Suggestions??

Dump Vista already!! It is still the lil sister to 7, that can't do anything well and everything slow!

Plus, 7 is compatible with nearly everything out there. Vista is too. Difference? 7 runs like a clock.

With 8, and 8.1 later this month, 7 will be a cheap upgrade that will prolly solve your driver problems.

Do you have a Blu Ray playback program? AnyDVD HD feature list states "Makes Blu-ray media playable with every player software." Is AnyDVD HD itself supposed to play back Blu Rays?

Unlike DVD's, Blu Ray playback has never been a standard part of Windows so it's far from 'plug n play.'
