So right now I'm building my very first PC and I have almost all the part I needed, at least I think. So I was told that I need a network adapter so I did try to look it up but Than I found out I need a pci express card. What does these two card actually do? They look exactly the same.

Read your motherboard manual for all features on the board itself. If you have a motherboard that came with a Killer Lan card follow instructions in your motherboard manual to determine what slot to insert it into.

PCI Express is a slot built into your motherboard for add-on cards, these are not typically needed unless you have a reason.
