Help choosing an RX480 8Gb

So far been waiting for a ITX version of the RX480 but seems that day will never come, so im gonna have to switch cases and buy the damn card because playing with iGPU sucks xD

Price is almost the same on the cards, Im looking for 2 things (max OC and great cooling)

What u guys recommend?

Well for max OC id choose a reference card with a waterblock and a custom bios for it, the VRM on ref cards are more than enough to push it on water, even DICE.

But for air, id probably go with the ROG STRIX card just because it has the largest cooler and thus provides the best oc potential on air.

I would get the MSI Gaming X version. It's a shame they dont offer the Gaming Z version.

According to Buildzoid the pcb on the MSI RX480 is worse than the reference one. Both the Nitro+ and the GTR RX480 are very good cards.

That's what I saw too, actually seems like the best circuitry is in the XFX GTR but no mention of cooling.

EDIT: also no reviews on the GTR :banghead:

Jayz2cents reviewed it. He really liked it. It seems to be a cool and performing card. Maybe he got lucky with the Polaris 10 he got.

Gtr or Nitro + get my vote, with Gtr getting my vote based off of Sapphires RMA lol, they are slow and according to others on the web they charge u an arm and a leg to send away

XFX GTR, has full 6 GPU phases, better for efficiency of VRM plus should be lower temps then cards with a phases less. IRF mosfets and better power sourcing then ref PCB cards.

IIRC Nitro has a phase knocked out on GPU. Last time I saw a MSI PCB image it had 4 GPU phases, dunno if they've revised it now.

Quite like the stock cooler/backplate as well on XFX GTR

Dunno about Mexico but for US/Canadian buyers XFX also offer warranty even if you swap stock cooler or get them to do it.
