Hello everyone i have an old
Soket 755 Q6600 Board thats working and i want it to give that to my parents for office work

The board does have an Intel p965 chipset with SATA (1 i think) and IDE.
Its name is: Tforce P965 Deluxe

My free lying around HDDs:
1. 80GB 2,5" SATA-1 Hitachi 7200rpm 8MB Cache - Hitachi_HTS721010G9SA00
2. 80GB 3,5" IDE Samsung 5900rpm 2MB Cache- (very silent came from a DVD-Recorder)
3. 200GB 3,5" IDE Seagate 7200rpm 8MB Cache- Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 200GB (ST3200822A)

i currently choosed Nr 1. as it is sata and 2,5" but it is slow at seeking atleats it feels like that

Which one should i choose for performance reasons? Please give you advice freely!
Thank you!

For office work, anyone you feel you can spare. I doubt they will notice any difference. I would go with SATA as PATA cables are horrible. :)

@Frick: Thansk for the fast answer i use the nr 1. as it is sata and silent. i think it would be interrestin to see if my 3,5" IDE stacks up to 2,5" sata

i went throught my "trash can" hardware
and found an IDE to SATA Adapter, one of these chinese converters....

i might use the second 3,5" 200GB ide as a backup drive in that case, IDE->adapter->sata plug on the mainboard
as the ide are planned as optical drive connector

Does any one know if these adapters work and/or make ide HDD slower?
