I will ask him if he's willing to spend 100 more, IMHO opinion intel's surely worth the difference.

he will spend 100 more now but he wont need to change ram. 16gb is hefty amount and it should be easily oced to 1600 and it will be fine with intel cpu (before making parchease you should try first if ram can be oced to 1600 cause if it cant going intel becomes pointless)
