    Hello all,

Have literally always managed to fix my own build problems but this one has me unsure...

    New Build with the following:
    [bullet]AMD Phenom Black Edition 9600
    Gigabyte MA790X-DS4 AMD 790X
    8gb gskill 1066 ram
    500gb sata hd
    pioneer blue ray optical
HIS ATI radeon HD 3870 X2 1gb Graphics card
    All booted with a 1000watt jeantech psu[/bullet]

All seemed to work fine at first, first power up ok - despite the problems i had with my last high end graphics card build, formatted hd, installed windows (xp :p) - all great - running xp for like 5 mins - started installing mobo drivers, restarted as software asked, but then when it rebooted it would hang while "continuing to install drivers" - for so long that first time I had to hard power off and reboot - then it did it again, after which it is now acting strange:

it does the 1/2 second thing - where you press power on and it will, for about 1/2 a second - the fans run and the orange light goes on on the mobo - then it cuts out and thats that.

    Things to note:

when u turn the main power switch on the psu on, keyboard lights come on like normal
tested psu seperate - works fine with pins green+black shorted
moved graphics card to seperate slot, reconnected everything several times, checked cpu, no apparent mobo shorting, moved ram, reset bios all with NO JOY!

whatever i try it just does the same - its like the cpu has died?!?!? but literally it was running windows one minute and the next it cuts out and wont start again?

Any ideas Dudes - pulling out my hair here...(well drinking wine)?!?!?
