Hi All

Purchased these cards after having one too many drinks.. Have requested a return and awaiting Ebay response. In the meantime I have been searching around and found the re flashing tutorials.. I happen to have the usb tool to reflash and have tried a couple with varying results.. Wondering if the brains trust can ID these cards and a matching BIOS. From what I can tell its a GF116-400-A1 with 1.5Gb Gddr5? doesnt have SLI and has a 6pin power connector.

Hi Thanks.. Yes I put a refund claim in.. Seems a waste to just put in the trash though. I am not sure of the brand it came in a plain white box and has no markings on it apart from the pictures of the chips I attached. Im looking for the Brand and model to find the correct BIOS.

Don't do anything at present, the seller can request you send them back as part of the refund, reflashing or modifying them could cause issues with this process.

Yep I was stupid.. Id rather not say doesn't really help with the original question anyway.
Just asking because I have one laying around. We all get taken once in a while

So is it fake?

Yeah certainly a fake.. the chip is GF116 and sold as a GTX1050ti. Seller has until the 11th to respond to paypal dispute so just sitting on them for the time being. Wont be returning them as Australia has pretty strict customs on counterfeit items. Wouldn't want the seller to be able resell anyway. They will make pretty paperweights I suppose.

Yeah that's what I thought too.. Tried searching for boards with similar layouts to get the right bios but cant seem to find it.
At worst its a 450...I’ll tag the master @eidairaman1 amd let him have a crack at it.

should be carefully pay for something next time, even its cheapest it doesnt meant it always worth the buck, i prefer pay for used one ratherthan random oem card, unless i found it worth, keep away from any transaction device while you were drunk:)

Yes certainly learnt the lesson.. At least its more of these things off the market I guess. Be nice to reflash to be able to actually use too.

Give me time. Get a hsf pick too

This is the ram K4G20325FD-FC04 those are 2 Gigabit chips. GDDR5

GIVE ME TIME

Are there any ram chips on the back of the card?

best guess it’s a 550Ti

I forgot the odd bus type can make 1.5 ram into 1.0

@Sinflux get gpu-z, open it click the arrow next to the UEFI check box, attempt to upload the bios to the vga bios collection through the program, you should get a prompt that the file is already in the database with a link, copy that link and post it here, also backup your bios to desktop.

Do you have a intel core i cpu or AMD APU or a secondary pcie x8/x16 slot?

Before you flash anything you need a backup plan

This might be your safest

Outstanding I will give that a thy.. I have downloaded the original Bios so theres a backup plan I guess. Theres no memory chips on the back
Got a few Machines got myself a legit R9-270 I can use now. Not quite a 1050ti but does the job

Let us know how the first bios goes. Backup plan means being able to boot the system using an igp or a secondary gpu incase the flash failed

I loaded up the palit bios... Couldnt help myself..

Seems ok so far.. I ran furmark on it... That heatsink fan combo doesn't do it any favors.. About 90c.. Makes me think these cards are dangerous especially if loaded with bios to make them operate at higher clocks.

I ran a heaven benchmark too and was surprised to see it actually make it to the end..

Well you got what you paid for, glad it works, please stop using furmark to benchmark anything, its a piece of crap.

Both of those are proper benchmarks. Furmark is not and can be dangerous in cases.
