Hello there, recently I was attempting to revive an older GPU. This thing was nothing special, however would have been nice to have around. After some fiddling with it, I attempted to short some connections on the board (okay bad idea, sue me). Anyway, it appears as though one of the mosfets has literally just fallen off, because when the card is installed now, it switches off the PSU, which I'm assuming is the motherboard sensing a power issue. In the provided pictures, there is the full image of the GPU as well as the alleged missing component (I think it's U506, however there is such a cluster that I can't tell), as well as the other mosfets on the card. I say alleged because I have also seen pictures of slightly different models having this component removed. The card is a COLORFUL GeForce GT 440 1GB GDDR5. If anyone happens to have a schematic of this particular card, that may help as well. Thanks for the help.

MOSFET in that location looks like it was never used, so it does not look missing to me. If the pad was ever used, i would expect most of the pad to be covered in solder.

Thanks for the reply, however now lies the question of what exactly went wrong with the board? I think it may be a micro-controller, that was what I originally shorted
