Help make a decision.

I recently sold my old motherboard and CPU. I then noticed that the CPU had no cooler because I can't find the stock cooler or the stock brace plate for my old 939 board. Long story short, I sold my Blue Orb II cooler because it was the only thing that fit.

I have come to learn that 4 Ghz clock I use for DVD encoding is impossible on the stock cooler for my Phenom II 955. I need a cooler for my new setup. I also want it to be under $50, so no V10 suggestions.

Other concerns, check my system specs for any clearance concerns, but I don't think you will find any. My case theme is Blue and Black, but I don't mind changing the case fans to match my CPU cooler.

My personal current choices, but please don't limit suggestions to these.

That cooler has a really nice look and cools well at stock, but bombs when OC'ed. I will need something that will handle a fairly decent OC as I intend to run my CPU at about 4.0 Ghz at times.

Just a quick clarification on the XIGMATEK HDT-S1284EE

On a AM2/AM3 setup will the fan be able to face front to back? I have looked and everything I see about the design suggests that it will only fit with the fan going from up and down on AM2/AM3 systems. Is this correct?

Yes the fan only faces up, but very few heatsinks will have the fan facing towards the back.

Thanks. It is easier than you think. Blowing the air up would not be good for my case. It would dumb hot air into my PSU. I don't want it to create a heat issue with the PSU. Thanks for all the help, the suggestions and that link to the CPU cooler benchmarks.
