Well hello there!

Right here's the deal! :D

I am looking at plenty of GTX 560 Ti models and I'm like... jayziz almighty!! So many to choose from! Different cooling solutions! different clock speeds and 1/2GB versions and what else!! different stickers ;)

Anyway!
The chances are I will be buying on ebay as I can't really find anything good in Ireland! price wise too!

I will show a list of what I'm currently looking at but would like advice on which one is best! Like.. I hear this MSI frostbite II version is supposed to keep it 20c cooler?!?!? and the Gigabyte version keeps it 35c cooler than the reference design??

Anyway!! help!!

Gigabyte 1GB GeForce GTX 560 Ti DVI HDMI - 212 Euros

EVGA 1GB GeForce GTX 560Ti GDDR5 Graphics Video Card - 183 Euros " slightly used "
http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230652150625&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

MSI 1GB GTX 560 Ti Graphics Card N560GTX-Ti TwinFrozr II/OC - 238 Euros

ASUS 1GB GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II - 200 Euros " slightly used "
http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130554401035&
ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

EVGA 1GB GeForce GTX 560 Ti MGE - 220 Euros
http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260824115071&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

PALIT 2GB GEFORCE GTX 560 TI PCI-E GRAPHICS CARD - 234 Euros
http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250862725821&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Which one should it be?? I would prefer to keep it to the cheapest! But if the cooling is any better then I probably should go for it? or even the 2GB version? although that's hardly going to make a difference!!
Any advice or suggestions would be great! :toast:

Oh! or this?

MSI N560GTX-M2D1GD5
http://www.komplett.ie/Komplett/pro...s_adapter_GF_GTX/N560GTX_M2D1GD5/default.aspx

It's only around 165 Euro????

Direct CU for 200. that is pretty cool. How much is slightly used?
For non used, i would go for the Gigabyte, it is the cheapest.

The 165 one is a GTX560 not a Ti. So it performs less.

The slightly used version is 183 euros, barely used and tested to work.
It seems like the best choice really?

Yea I noticed the one on komplett is not the Ti version! ugh!

I might just go with the used one so :p

To OP:

First off, the GTX 560 Ti is a great card--your making a good decision buying this card. I understand your dilemma in deciding which supplier you want to buy from, and there are a few things you should consider when making this decision. I bought a EVGA GTX 560 Ti a month ago, and have had no MAJOR problems with it (cont reading).

First off, you want to get a card with a good warranty. I personally have never had to return a card for any reason, but I know that certain suppliers have easier return options (EVGA is supposedly hassle free--from what I have read).

Obviously cooling is a major factor when deciding which card to get. In my honest opinion, it is worth spending the extra 20-30$ on a card that has no problems in this department. From experience, my EVGA 560 Ti was running at nearly 90 degrees full load--which is a too high for my liking (and any chances of overclocking are quelled). Fortunetly, EVGA's warranty is not voided if you install a 3rd party cooler, as long as you don't damage the card (and keep all the stock parts, if/when you have to return it). This is certainly not the case for all VGA suppliers.

As for aftermarket cooling options; after a little research you will find that there are not many options for cooling a GTX 560 Ti. I had trouble locating a cooler that listed the GTX 560 Ti on the compatibility lists of many coolers, and the ones that did cost a fortune to ship directly from the supplier. I ran into a few posts saying the GELID Icy Vision (rev 2) worked well the for the GTX 560 Ti, even though it was not listed as compatible on the box.

As I mentioned before, I was running at 90 degrees full load with my standard EVGA cooler. I bought the GELID Icy Vision cooler for ~$50 and installed it a few days ago. I ran the same benchmarks that shot my stock cards' temps up to 90 degrees--the results were amazing. With the new cooler i'm running at 61 degrees--now I have my card overclocked and get ~7-10% better performance without hitting over 65 degrees full load.

My point is, unless you are certain you will have to problems with temperatures (good airflow and a good stock cooler) and you don't plan on overclocking your card, then you should consider spending the initial 10-20$ extra on the card. Even then, you're taking the risk that the card will not run as smoothly as it could with an aftermarket cooler. My recommendation for you is to get a card without an extravegant cooling system, but one with a warranty that allows you to upgrade the cooler if it becomes a problem. You would have to do research on this topic, but I know that EVGA is a supplier that falls into this catagory.

Spend the extra $20-$30 ($220+$50) vs a $240 card, and then having to upgrade the cooling, which puts you at $290+. If you neglect a card that runs at too high of a temp, the longevity of the card will diminish over time and you may damage other hardware because of the heat emitted from the VGA card.

Hopefully this helps you make a decision--either way, you will be happy with the GTX 560 Ti. Seriously look into the GELID cooler if you find your card is running too hot. Let me know if you have any other questions.

**EDIT
Also, one of the things to look for in a well cooled card is whether or not there are mounted heatsinks on the individual RAM chips. When I pulled my stock cooler of the VGA card, there were only little thermal pads (which were horribly placed) on the RAM chips. The GELID cooler (along with many other coolers) came with individual metal heatsink that I mounted with a little thermal glue to each of the 8 or 9 RAM chips. Now you can see why the card is running 30 degrees cooler.
