Or you can get a second 4850 for crossfire action! If you have the motherboard for it of course.

None of them. You wouldn't feel any real difference between overclocked 4850 (850/2300) and those cards. I've had GTX 260 and upgraded to HD4850 (yes, I'm OK). You should buy second 4850 and start Crossfire.

All three of those are pretty tempting... if you spend $300 on a GTX 260, I would get the 216 shader one. Or you could get a 192 shader GTX 260 for like $250... with overclocking, it will probably beat out that 4870 1GB, if it isn't able to already on a game.

WOW ! GTX 260 have about 20% more horsepower. And what about 4850 oced? GTX 260 does not go that far with horsepower on OC as 4850 can go. Seriously oced HD4850 is not far away from GTX260.

Wouldnt i get mircostutter with SLI or Crossfire? isn't it better to stay with 1 GPU?? i just read about that with the 9800GX2 so that 9800GX2 is not on my list now lol.

Well, that's due to crappy driver support. nVidia tried to copy ATi in that field. With a 4870 OC'd, you can beat the 260 OC'd. It's 90+% within range of the 280 at stock, but, a 9800GX2 is nothing to sneeze at. If I were you, I would wait for the 4850X2, which is coming out pretty soon. You can crossfire it with your current 4850 for a Manage-triple.

    An X2 plus a single-core variant (i.e.: 4850X2 + 4850 = Triple)

Cool on the build. AMD or Intel?
