I like these 2 monitors but want to decide which one

Dell P2714H

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=eep&cs=6099&sku=210-ABIH

LG 27EA33V

http://www.microcenter.com/product/410039/27EA33V_27_Slim_LED_IPS_Monitor

Hope both are good for gaming. I like the Dell's adjustable stand and the display port.

Other cheaper option would be

AOC E2727SHE

http://www.microcenter.com/product/428698/E2727SHE_27_LED_Monitor

I currently have AOC 23" monitor and happy with it. I know its not IPS but for the price its tempting.

Main usage will be gaming, movies and regular office work.

Budget would be less than $300.

Thanks,

Well the DELL is tempting but its expensive, The LG looks nice but doesn't offer much more then the AOC except it's IPS. I would go with AOC- the reason (why pay more when I don't have to) and it has a 3 year warranty

Thanks for the replies. Yeah 1440P is good to have but then will I be able to play at 1440P with my 7950? I then have to upgrade my GPU too.

I have been thinking about 24" monitor, but it won't be that bigger than my 23".

I was also debating between adding 2 x 22/23" monitor to be used along with my existing 23". Again gaming wise I can't benefit (without upgrading video card), but for work I can have multiple apps open on different monitors. Wife complains about desk cluttering, so want to get the 27.

On Dell I get additional 17% discount and 10% back as ecard.

What's the difference between IPS and regular panel? IPS better for gaming?

What's the difference between IPS and regular panel? IPS better for gaming?
First question: Color and contrast. The difference is quite prevalent.
2nd question: Yes. With the significantly better color and contrast, it makes for a much better visual experience. 5ms b2w2b and 60hz is just fine for gaming.
