is just a standard audio jack? if so just plug in any set of speakers to the audio jack and it will work, be it any of them you showed or a normal stereo with a line input option

Yea 3.5 phone jack and USB connection.

The main reason i want this is for traveling. Holidays coming round soon and this will be my only way of listening to my music!
Also for boring showers! With music pumping in there I can shake it and have fun!!
Or just watch a movie on it or tv show!

So I really can't use actual desktop speakers :p

"Normal" Speakers like that Altec Lansing needs to be plugged in, so theyre not for on the go, but the audio quality should be great.

The other two includes batteries, so they act like earbuds and can go where ever, but compared to decent speakers, audio quality are usually horrible and volume is tiny.

So it really depends what youre gonna use them for.

Thanks for that info.

I have done a little more looking around. I can't find any websites with these speakers to see how good or bad they actually are. :(

But I found 2 of these that look and appear decent:

http://cgi.ebay.ie/Wooden-Mobile-US...leAudio_MP3PlayerSpeakers&hash=item45f3bffbae

and

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/iPod-Speakers...leAudio_MP3PlayerSpeakers&hash=item4cefffa43f

Would any of those do the job well enough?

I do prefer the third option:
http://cgi.ebay.ie/Portable-Speaker...leAudio_MP3PlayerSpeakers&hash=item4cf01cb97a

To me that looks better!
But what do I know :p

I have no sure idea on how they sound, but I doubt that any of them are great as the size really limits the performance. But the point is, since they all look like no-brand generic lots, the difference should be big.

Technically the third one is the best since its so big, but its BIG.

To give you an idea, I personally own this one: http://cgi.ebay.ie/NEW-X-MI-X-MINI-...leAudio_MP3PlayerSpeakers&hash=item2ea43dd2a2

Its plenty loud for the size (looks like a walnut :D), and the audio is clear enough for TV/movies. Bass sucks and the high notes get fuzzy, but I didn't expect this for music in the first place so Im a happy customer.

Thanks for that Timonthy.

My gf likes those speakers :p
Her fav colour is red and she wants me to buy the red ones!
But I want something a little more thumping bass :)

How big is the third option?
I really have no idea how big it actually is :p

Here is another one...although plenty more expensive..but to me it sounds impressive and SONY branded with SRS and 30W.

http://cgi.ebay.ie/Sony-SRS-BT100IK...leAudio_MP3PlayerSpeakers&hash=item3cacbf22db

Would that be worthy??
Or go for the cheaper options?

That third one is a bit over 2 pounds and 13 inches long. So Its the size of a giant subway sandwich XD.

And Im afraid you can not use the bluetooth one as the S9 doesnt have Bluetooth support from what I know.

Thanks :)
Large enough alright!

Also those 2 bluetooth speakers can be connected up using a phone jack!
I won't be bothering with bluetooth!
so it should work fine!

Whoops, missed the 3.5mm jacks on the two. XD

But they are expensive for what they are IMO, since youre paying for bluetooth that youre not gonna use.

How about these two:
http://cgi.ebay.ie/Philips-SBA1600-...leAudio_MP3PlayerSpeakers&hash=item5887e01f27
http://cgi.ebay.ie/JBL-tour-Portabl...leAudio_MP3PlayerSpeakers&hash=item3f012100af

Ive used the Philips one and it sounds pretty nice, its small and I love the simple look. Only down side is you can only adjust the volume through your PMP as there's no buttons on the speakers itself, but it shouldn't be a big problem.

Yes that's true alright.

I like those 2 you showed me but they just won't be up to sound standard that I seek :p
I must find something that has a decent amount of bass.
Not floor shaking!
But something that has a thump :p

MY personal conclusion to the best buy right now would have to go for the third option:
http://cgi.ebay.ie/Portable-Speaker...leAudio_MP3PlayerSpeakers&hash=item4cf01cb97a

Mainly from price, size, info. I think this is the best way to go.
It's cheap compared to the bigger more expensive bluetooth options.
But I fear the lack of no brand names :(

Unless nothing else pops out!
I will probably end up buying this :)

Timothy's last link those speakers eem better, they have a higher signal to noise ratio but a slightly lower frequency response. The higher the signal to noise the louder your speakers can go before hiss and noise. So it depends on what you want, clarity or volume

Asrock: Main reason why I want a portable speaker setup is for when I am laying outside, going on holiday and having a shower :p
Actual 2.1 speakers are not good enough for that lol!

I checked the review for it and it's lacking BASS and is just not as good as I would like :p

But I went off and bought the 3rd option :D
Was only 40 euro so I am happy :D

I just got my portable speakers today :)
It was pretty bulky. larger than I was expecting!

I really like it's design! Very nice and sounds impressive!
Good decent bass too.
I can turn it up very loud! loved it in the shower!
Showers have never been so much fun ;)

It has a SD slot and USB connection and an Audio IN slot. Very nifty :p

Overall for 40 euros I am very pleased :)
5/5!

Moshi Bassburger is very loud and compact! I mean very loud, I can hear it from downstairs in my house when it's on full connected to my Nokia xpressmusic. And to make it harder my walls are double brick so it is very hard for sound to travel! Just saw you answered the question
