Screenshot your mod bios ingpu-z, does your card have the uefi/csm bios switch on it?

Look up your specific model on sapphire for clock speeds too

So you have Hynix memory, if you find the stock core and memory speeds that match in the list then you "should" be good to go.

He needs to go with the one with 043 and 001 in the bios version listing, it is for trix oc and 1000/ 1300 speed.

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=AMD&manufacturer=Sapphire&model=R9+290&version=&interface=&memType=&memSize=4096&since=

He just needs to use this one

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/153454/sapphire-r9290-4096-140115

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/153204/sapphire-r9290-4096-140115-1

One is uefi, the other is CSM, iirc he has a dual bios card, if the switch is in uefi its illuminated blue, if its not it is in csm.

Just open multiple windows and compare bios versions
Same spec, I always take the most recent matching rather than the original from 2013, just my thing, I work on the theory that updates should bring improvements, theory may be flawed tho :)

I know I saw that, I would just go for the more recent personally.

The check in the UEFI box means the vBIOS has an active UEFI GOP module. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that the UEFI GOP module is functional(active ≠ functional). If the vBIOS has been modified, it most likely doesn't have a functional UEFI GOP module. Unless a specifically patched UEFI GOP module has also been added to it. Which is rare. Since most people don't know how/where/why to do that. Meaning...odds are the vBIOS on your card doesn't have a functioning UEFI GOP module. Even though GPU-Z says it "should".

The difference is being able to use UEFI GOP boot and/or secure boot. You need a vBIOS with a functional UEFI GOP module to use those features. Other than that, it doesn't matter.
