Looks like the Atrix is the cream of the crop right now. Thanks for all your help! I really appreciate it.

Galaxy S II (Galaxy S Infuse 4G for Rogers) is coming sometime in the summer- I'd wait for that if you're not in a hurry.

If you're a good negotiator, talk your plan down. I got the $50 data plan from Rogers talked down to $42.50, then I cancelled the data plan after the mandatory 2 months which brings it down to $17.50/month with 200 minutes + Unlimited after 6PM and unlimited weekends, 100 texts, and caller ID. I got 2500 texts talked down to $5 as well which brings my monthly bill to $22.50/month. Took around four days - got the Galaxy S Captivate along with the plan, still loving it, especially with the custom ROMs. :rockout:

Holy crap that's cheap! Good job! I'm not very persuasive, unfortunately. I'm learning though =D

After checking out that Samsung.. it's quite competitive. It's got better specs almost all around.

I'm not partial to Motorola right now - only because my first experience with Motorola was a Razr. I hate to judge but until I try out one of their smart phones I might stray.

The Samsung is a great phone, but the Atrix still trumps it. A lot of people are disappointed in the Galaxy S II because it still has some of the same bugs as the Galaxy S/Nexus S that they never ironed out.

It's hard making a decision when I hear good and bad things about both phones, haha.

I think I need to go into Bell and try one out or something.. maybe that'll help.

Are you currently on a provider? You can usually get retention plans along with a phone if you're already a customer. If not, you might have to get a generic plan for a few months, then talk to retentions. You can ONLY get retention plans and negotiations over the phone, the sales reps at the stores only give you their generic plans.

AFAIK, the Motorola Atrix is currently the best phone you can buy on contract with the big 3 in Canada. If you're "signing a new contract," - meaning you aren't renewing or upgrading an existing contract, buy from Best Buy, Future Shop, or Costco as you'll receive a $50-100 gift card.

If you've got time, this could prove useful. In general, if you believe you're talking to a "bad" rep (ones that don't let you get anything), tell them you'll think about it, thank them politely, and hang up. Call again some minutes after and try again. If you believe the talk with a rep has benefited you in some way (i.e. getting something free), ask for a reference number and write down that number. Get what you need at a price you can manage.
